And got beaten out by some dude from Tara High (in BR) for the starting job.

I know they won't give a shite about that either.

I like niceness.

And not badness.

And this is badness.

That doesn't answer his question of why you are so emotionally attached to the issue.

Are there any Bama fans against oversigning? Don't think I've seen one on here that is......

I think it sucks. I'd like to see the SEC get a rule limiting the practice. College football IS NOT pro football (thankfully). Y'all want to watch people get signed and cut and thrown away like pieces of meat for a dollar, there's plenty of pro football on tv.

Because I, along with a lot of others, want to see the practice end.

And it will.

Two years ago, it wasn't a blip.

And look how far we've come.

Oh, okay. So adults making what amounts to a business decision is a "bad" thing? We've got to protect the adults from "bad" things. Heaven help them if we burst their little cocoon of "niceness".

Yes, it is. We're just not afraid to make mention of the 800 lbs gorilla in the room.

To the SEC discussing it? Big 10 is discussing paying players a certain amount. Doesn't mean it will happen.

Again, complain when you have a full 85 man roster, then I'll listen. Till then, enjoy your very limited depth .

By bringing it to the attention of the national media.

I don't look for it this time, but it's coming, especially as more and more kids are cut, more stories are told, more interviews and articles are done, and more schools not supporting the practice raise holy h*ll.

Texas.

Is a very powerful proponent.

And a major catalyst.

FWIW.

I don't like the practice of teams signing lawless thugs. It's an ugly stain on college football. I have a big problem with Mark Richt's inability to instill discipline. Who wants first dibs on thugsigning.com which will address this problem and bring it to light?

Well, I guess a half dozen could always commit armed robbery ~ That would be another alternative to cut the fat off the meat of the roster....

It's really not pro football. These are kids playing a game in order to get a college degree. We as fans and the system as a whole have turned it into what it is today: a for profit, minor league for the NFL.

Is there a list somewhere of all the poor little football players that are the victim in this issue?

Yes, it is. It is revenue generating.

These are adults playing a game in order to get a shot in the league...and if it doesn't work out, get a degree and some contacts which will get them employed.

Well if it's for a degree then they should have no problem taking a medical hardship or greyshirted. Neither make them leave the campus. It's all up to them on the path they choose. Embrace it and use a greyshirt as motivation to prove yourself to the coaches, or sulk and let it destroy your career as Garrett did.
