If Texas holds serve and beats us, and I think you do, then you are probably looking at a coin flip game against A&M for who gets a better seed. The one disadvantage the Horns have is that for the Aggies and Hogs this is the game of the year.
I will eat my words here. When Arkansas beat the brakes off Texas a few years ago and Sark was standing on the sideline looking like he'd just put a beloved family pet to sleep I thought y'all were in a for world of hurt. To his credit Sark has played the new NIL era about as well as it can be played.
I, instinctively, hate the Horns, but y'all are currently set up better than anyone in the country for how college football is going to be played from here on out.

Yeah unless Tennessee very narrowly loses to Georgia and Ole Miss looks bad against Florida and Mississippi State, Ole Miss is running away with that beauty pageant. On better recent form with everything else equal.

Ole Miss lost at home against Kentucky. A Kentucky team that tnensssee beat by 2 possessions.
UT lost at Arkansas. OM won in Fayetteville by 32 points.
I want both my teams in the playoffs but if it comes down to OM vs UT I don’t see how anyone can confidently say that Tennessee is a better team right this moment.

team we beat by 32 points. See how this works?
A team that also scored 31 on your arse. Tennessee defense is best in the country! Tennessee not giving up those points. Also that game was on the road, not at HOME! Big difference!

on what planet is GA getting in with losses to Bama and OM and have the sane record...GA is odd man out if Rebs and Tide win out.

Look at the defense!
Tennessee is the only team in the country to hold every team it’s played this season below 20 points. That 9 consecutive games without allowing 20pts! Tennessee defense is legit and would stop that Ole Miss offense like Kentucky stopped them.

The OM defense would completely smother the shitty UT offense. Nico is not that guy pal. He’s been arse all season long, and our D-line would have a field day with him.
The Tennessee D is good but I don’t think they’re the “best in the country” lmao. And you’ll use the “Arkansas scored 31” excuse, ignoring the fact that 14 of their points came after we went up 56-17 and completely stopped trying.

Tennessee’s defense is holding opponents to 12.6 ppg but Ole Miss is holding opponents to just 12.9.
That’s a push and Ole Miss has the top offense in the conference. Tennessee, to be fair, is third. So both very good teams but Ole Miss with the better hypothetical resume.

Texas/Texas A&M likely a playoff elimination game assuming they win their other games - 1 spot
Due to where A&M currently sits in the CFP rankings, I think A&M would have to win the SECCG to get a CFP spot. MAYBE a last second FG loss in the SECCG gets them in, but they will definitely still be on the bubble.

lol. OM had their 3rd and 4 string D in towards the end of the 3rd quarter…. In Fayetteville. UT’s d isn’t as good as OM’s

If Texas loses to A&M there is no beauty in their season.
5-5 Michigan
5-5 OU
6-4 Vandy only win Vs team with winning record at this time. Could easily end up 6-6.
Loser of our game is eliminated.

Didn't Vanderbilt lose to Georgia State? Yeah, magical thinking. ATM lost to Notre Dame and LSU lost to Southern California. All signs point to a down year for the SEC. Unpopular take, however, Oregon and Ohio State appear to be the best teams in the Country.

No team should ever make the cfp without a single Top 25 win. That would be insane.

SEC isn't getting more than 3 spots without some ACC upsets.

The conference championship games always posed the biggest possible controversy for the committee.
There's a pretty good chance that they get a big decision regarding them with the SEC in the very first year.
It makes it even more difficult that there's not a clearly dominant SEC team this year that the committee can easily "excuse" the SEC runner up for losing to.
It's going to cause all kinds of controversy because all the SEC contenders will have a win over an other but these are all mixed up as well and don't really separate anyone.
That's probably mean the final argument is going to resemble basketball selection where you start hearing a bit less about losses and more about who has the most "quality wins".
