The SEC should consider setting up a conference NIL program, with the goal being to further separate the conference from the others. Thus, expanding talent gap even further and ultimately garner even more money for the conference and its members. Something like the following:

1. SEC conference takes a share and sets it aside for NIL

2. Each school must have a NIL collective and a minimum number of dollars in their fund to receive a portion of the conference NIL matching funds. Say 5M

3. Schools agree that you cant provide NIL deal on intra conference transfers in first year. The goal is to bring in talent from outside conference while also retaining current talent

4. SECe headquarters cuts it share in half temporarily to help ensure individual schools are not taking a per share cut. Reality is that with the increased revenue that Weare experiencing this isn't even likely even a budget cut

ThoughtI would throw something out for discussion

This works in a scenario where all things are created equally.

That simply isn't the case.

This would be several NCAA violations as the rules stand now.

The better move would be to leave the NCAA and just pay the players a salary.

While I think something probably needs to be done about NIL, I am pretty sure this would go against the court's ruling on NIL. A lot of players have multiple NIL deals with different companies, etc. It would take the marketing aspect of NIL away and limit what the players could earn.

Your approach is more like giving them bigger cash scholarships which is not what NIL is all about.

Close enough. The less fortunate would benefit. The current leaders stand to gain nothing.
