It is not about this. It about the SEC Branding Media access, and coverage, getting qualified and unbiased people to work for the SEC.

Hell they could move it to NYC of LA if it helped out the SEC brand

The SEC brand has really suffered being in Birmingham so far. I mean just look at the state of the SEC right now. We better move it away before the whole conference goes under.

I believe you are sincere in making the Texas argument, and you have some valid points. But you just don't understand the politics of the Southeast. Jealousy abounds between the States of the Old South, and if it abounds between the old members of this family, it certainly abounds when faced with new family members. Texas is indeed a very great State with a lot to offer. But old habits die hard in this part of the country.

I am not saying that. I am just saying to increase exposure it may need to be somewhere else. If you are a potential advertiser or someone thinking about doing a piece on the SEC where would you rather go B'ham and eat at Aurby's or some 5 star resturant and stay in a 5 star hotel. (Same for BR, Oxford, Aubrun, Starkville).

The main point is being able to attrack qulified people and not Bama hacks.

Is LSU the only program in the history of the SEC to never legitimately lose a game?

-Non-PI Call
-His foot was in bounds
-The grass was wet
-We shouldn't have to play Florida every year
-We shouldn't have had to play you twice
-If Lee hadn't have thrown all those INTs
-We were less than a minute away...
-Etc. etc. etc.

Yet, no LSU fan bitched when nearly every SEC team had a bye week prior to playing Alabama.

-no LSU fan bitched in 2004 when an LSU defender prevented an Alabama touchdown by blatantly knocking a Bama WR on his arse in the endzone and intercepting the ball.

-No LSU fan bitched when McElroy was called for a questionable IG that spotted the swamp creatures two points;

-No LSU fan bitched when Alabama was getting their asses kicked by UT while they were in their prime.

-No LSU fan bitched when Alabama was penalized for a laughable textbook scandal, while they received a slap on the wrist after a WR coach PAID A PLAYER to transfer there.

I mean, how intoxicated are these Swamp People when they post?

If the SEC HQ were to move to any other major Southern city not named New Orleans, it wouldn't take 2 years before you frickin nutria-eating back-swamp-dwelling tigertards were complaining about the SEC's outright bias for the team closest to the new HQ

Also , somebody find the clip of the AU-Vandy game a while back where Vandy got a TD when the receiver completely dropped the ball. Like the ball landed 10 feet away from him.
or LSU Bama 2004 when a Bama TD was looming until LSU corner knocked the receiver down and rushed away with the ball.

I understand the SEC protecting its top ranked teams at times, but Florida Arkansas 2009 was just an abhorration.

Thankfully, you don't fall under the "qualified people" category.

As far as exposure goes, it could be beneficial to rotate the SEC Media Days around the SEC's footprint. Places like Houston, DFW, NOLA, Little Rock, Memphis, Birmingham, Nashvegas, ATL, Orlando, etc....I really don't think there is a real need to relocate the HQ though, just improve diversity within and focus on being more transparent

Well surprise surprise. Not much of a response when you lay it out like that.

The SEC has never had as much exposure as it enjoys now. It's arguably the premiere conference in all of collegiate athletics. The SEC Network is set to launch next year, which will bring it even more exposure. What I'm trying to ask is: what in heaven's name are you talking about?

Which makes little sense. Nearly 2,000 press badges were issued for SEC Media Days last week - more than all other conferences combined. It's fine where it is.

Responding to bama retards just lowers you to their level... much like responding to the lower tier LSU posters does to the reasonable Bama posters. I don't know why I'm bothering but...

FWIW in order of complaint:

1) Teams were lining up their bye weeks ahead of LSU as well (everyone that could played a cupcake or bye before their LSU game). That didn't start until LSU got good... just like teams didn't start trying to schedule bye weeks or cupcakes before Bama when Bama sucked.

2) The 2004 no call could have easily gone the other way and should have. The game ended up not being close but it should have been called.

3) Really? A call from a game that you won and was probably correct?

4) You can't be serious about the Bama/Tenn thing. First off LSU sucked back in the 90s when Tenn was great so we weren't complaining about anything other than how terrible our team and coaches were. Secondly, if you wanted to change opponents with LSU you would have gotten Florida and Florida was better than Tennessee in the 90s (and much better since the 90s) anyway.

5) Textbook scandal was about Bama arrogance in the face of a NCAA infraction. They were penalized by the NCAA for treating the NCAA with the same respect they accord other teams in the SEC. LSU did not get penalized for paying a player, they were penalized for helping a student travel to LSU and helping him find a cheaper place to stay. Unlike Bama, LSU does not have a history of football misbehavior, they SELF reported the incident, they fired the coach who found the kid lodging, and the kid never played a down of football for LSU.

Dallas is a bigger city than Birmingham, sure, but do you really think SEC media days would be as big of a media spectacle far from the vast majority of the SEC media members? It would be about the 15th most important thing happening in Dallas that week. In Birmingham at the heart of the SEC, it is the biggest thing happening for months.

Also, it is laughable to say that having SEC media days in Dallas is going to suddenly make Dallas an SEC town or make Dallas residents suddenly want to pay 6 bucks a month for the SEC Network.

Not Monticello, but damn there is a bunch of crying LSU fans and gumps up in here.
But no, if it is moved, it should be in Atlanta and no where else. Maybe Nashville just because of the atmosphere, but just imagining how much bigger SEC media day could be if it was in ATL is a scary thought.
