Last day of stroke play is underway. Aggies have pulled up into 8th early, see if they can maintain their spot.

Florida is a scorching -8 about 2/3 of the way through. We will see if they can hold it together on the back. No way to catch LSU though. They are having a good round as well.

Aggies, Hogs and Cats are in a 3 way tie for 8th.
Georgia is 2 shots behind them and MSU and Carolina are 5 out of 8th. Auburn and Vols are 4 shots in front of 8th.

Crunch time.

Aggies got up to 7th before fading (is it November already?). They played 14-15-16 in +9 as a five-man team. They're still well within striking distance of making match-play.

Florida is going wild but LSU's 8-shot lead might be too much. Tigers are going to coast on the back.

LSU is solidly in the lead and would need an epic meltdown to even be threatened.

Vandy, Alabama, and Florida are closely packed at 2,3, and 4 - each one stroke behind the next.

Huge drop to #5 Ole Miss.

A&M is one stroke behind the Top 8. Kentucky is playing poorly - may play their way out.

MSU and UGA would need a lot of luck to get there.

Missouri is dead man walking.

If you're LSU, there's no way in hell you want to see A&M on the 8-line. Aggies have some really good players and could easily win 3 matches tomorrow morning.

Yeah not wanting that draw at all. Have to root hard for either Arkie or Kentucky or Georgia!

If they have a tie for 8th, how do they break it?

Not sure. I looked back at last year's event and there was not a tie for 8th.

At this point, it seems safe to say Mizz, USCe, State and Georgia are out of time to catch up and get to the match play rounds. AtM, Tenn, Ark and Kentucky all with a chance at the last 2 spots. LSU, Vandy, Fla, Bama, Aub, Ole Miss all will advance.

Florida is on to match play. Low round of the tourney today I believe. Auburn making a leap with 3 birdies in a row at 15. They could catch Fla for 3rd.

Wouldn't it be lowest round?

In the NCAA Tournament, they play it off. All 5 players go out, play a hole and they count the top 4 scores. They go until a team wins.

I'm pretty sure that's what the SEC does.

So that's the format the SEC uses. Here it is from SEC commissioner's regulations:

1. Team Competition. All five players on each tied team will play. If two teams are tied, the Nos. 5, 4, and 3
players from each team will play in the first group, followed by the Nos. 2 and 1 players. The best four scores from each team will be counted on each hole to determine the winner. If three or more teams are tied, the No. 5 players will play first, followed by the No. 4 players, etc.

If a team playoff is not possible, the tied teams will be named co-champions. The three-day total of the tied
teams’ non-counting scores will be used to determine which team receives the league’s automatic NCAA
Tournament bid. The team with the lowest three-day total will be awarded the automatic bid to the NCAA
Tournament.

Arkansas gains a stroke on Tenner/A&M's tie for 7th/8th. Sitting at +15. Tennessee is watching from the clubhouse in at +14 overall. Aggie still playing on 12-16, same as the Hogs.

EDIT: As I send this, Hogs gain another stroke. Tied with Tenner and Aggie at +14 overall and even on the day.

Birdie central for the Hogs right now. Make it +13 and -1 on the day. 7th all to themselves now.

Edit: Another one!

Edit 2: Hogs are en fuego. Another birdie to bring them to +11 overall and -3 on the day. 3 strokes behind Ole Miss and Bama tied for 5th.

I wonder if AtM plays safe with Tenn in the clubhouse, or goes for the win?

Wish I had video. From the looks of things they've been collectively parring everything with regularity for the last few holes. All they need is a stroke so I'd imagine they're ok with two-putting most of the way here.

Edit: Another birdie for the Hogs +10, -4 on the day now. Bama added another one as well to overtake Ole Miss sitting at +7 overall. Ole Miss 6th at +8.

I'm not sure they have updated their website since they went to 3 day team play and 2 day match play.
