5.Tennessee
6.Alabama
7.Mississippi St.
8.Ole Miss
9.Georgia
10.South Caroline
11.Arkansas

7.Texas A&M
8.Tennessee
9.Alabama
10.Arkansas
11.Missouri
12.Ole Miss
13.Georgia
14.Vanderbilt

MY SEC Coaches Rankings
1.John Calipari-won last 9/10 SEC games to win conference

2.Bruce Pearl-has established himself as the second best coach in the league IMO

3.Will Wade-did a good job of stabilizing the team after losing a lot of talent and being suspended last year

4.Ben Howland-couldn't find a good reason to rank him lower

5.Buzz Williams-did a good job with what he had to work with

6.Frank Martin-seems to be treading water but is still a very good coach

7.Eric Musselman-did a good job all things considered

8.Jerry Stackhouse-impressed with how hard Vandy played winning 3 SEC games after a long losing streak

9.Rick Barnes-not impressed with what he is doing there

10.Nate Oates-finished 16-15(Avery Johnson got fired for going 18-16)

11.Mike White-preseason ranked 6th in the nation

12.Cuonzo Martin-just don't think he is a good coach

13.Kermit Davis-seems to have lost all the momentum he had from last year

14.Tom Crean-not impressed at all

What grade would you give the coach of your favorite SEC MBB team?

I give Will Wade a B for what he did this year.

No one will agree with where I think our preseason #12 coach should’ve ended up.
So I’ll keep my opinion to myself.

But I’m trying to learn the game better.
And it seems like our conference has nowhere to go but up?
It was fun—if short—season.

That Vandy game cost him 1 letter grade!

I’d give Miss an A for what he did with a pretty garbage roster. If not for an injury to Joe, we’re probably a lock for the NCAAT.

Eh, this year was the most unpredictable year I can remember. There was not one elite team.

March madness would've been upset central.

You don't hafta, I want to know.

Buzz did a very good job, but I want to see more before I can rank a guy who went 16-14 any higher.

Didn’t you already express your opinion without directly saying it though?

Buzz did a nice job, but first year coaches frequently overachieve with their first year rosters. fricking Johnny jones did a masterful job his first season, same with Kermit Davis. Kermit is a much better coach than Johnny but you get it.

Pear did a great job and finally seems to be getting credit in this board where it’s due. We survived the bs and back to making strong arse offers. LSU is going to be nasty next season.

Mike White: wtf lmao

Frank Martin did his usual overachieving job with his terrible roster that he assembled, so I don’t really find that achieving much.

Everyone did an overall okay job minus Crean. Wtf was that coaching job

Muss won 20 games without a true big presence in the paint.

He adjusted and coached for each game and made in game adjustments.

He has a top 5 class coming in.

He ranks towards the top when it comes to "coaches".

I wouldn't trade him for any coach in the SEC.

What did you expect? 2nd year of a rebuild with 9 freshmen.

Can't say "I" had expectations. I glanced at the preseason rankings (9th) and UGA finished 13th.

That's why I asked for grades from each fanbase.

Sounds like the future is bright.

Very average job this year (9-9 in the league was my preseason expectation) but with the 2020 class coming in and the position they are in with 2021 guys I don’t think you can really question the job he’s doing moving forward.

The reason VOLS were so bad is he took 2.5 years off recruiting after the Williams, Bone, Bowden, Fulkerson class, but staff changes seem to have corrected that mentality.

Tennessee still has the 2nd best SEC record over the past 3 years and 3rd best during Barnes’ tenure.

Some thoughts: Tennessee lost all there good players from last year and there only returning started missed the majority of the season; Florida had a lot of talent but greatly underperformed that talent level; Auburn played very consistently throughout the year

More than doubled his conference wins from last year with 10 (TEN) new players on the team. Was 5-6 blown leads away from being on the tourney bubble.

People dump on crean bc hating UGA is en Vogue these days for some reason

Actually your coaching comments are pretty good. I think Howland is way too high, and Kermit is low.

I really like Georgia as a school. The fans, Athens, experience are top notch.

That doesn’t mean Crean did a good job. I’m not saying Crean is a terrible coach and can’t be the guy, but to not criticize his performance even a little is odd.

It has nothing to do with “hating Georgia”. I’m sure Crean would agree the season didn’t go as planned. The sec wasn’t very strong this season, and Georgia certainly had some great talent

And that's perfectly fair. But you said literally all 13 other coaches did at least an "ok job", meaning he did worse than ok. Which presumably means bad. And I would definitely disagree that he did a bad job this year.

Where are you seeing this? There's a gigantic difference in "hey I don't think he was as bad as you claim" and "why can't you even criticize him even a little?"

Tier 1:
Wade
Calamari
Pearls

Tier 2:
Cowland
Fuzz
F. Martin
Muscleman
Barnes

Tier 3:
Stack
White
Kermit

Tier 4:
C. Martin
Oatmeal

Tier 5:
Cream

Oatmeal is clearly the worst new coach. He inherited the best situation (thanks to Avery) and his team slowly got shittier and ended the year looking like the worst team in the SEC. Oh, and he’s absolutely terrible in recruiting.
