If the SEC decided to start fielding lacrosse teams, how many years would it take before it would surpass the ACC as the premier lax conference?
I could see UGA, USC, UTK, Vandy, Alabama, Florida, and possibly Auburn and Ole Miss fielding competitive programs.

Lacrosse is far down the list of sports I want us to add.

Cool bro. Go back to the soccer board.
That wasn't the question.

Just realized GTU doesn't field a varsity team.

It would take a while. ACC country is lacrosse country. I know the sport is growing here but it would take a generation for people to develop the love for it.

Natty in under 10 years. SEC resources are just bigger these days.

We could field good teams if big High Schools and youth leagues down here played the sport. Until then, it will be a club sport like hockey. Schools are starting to play it, but you have to have some home grown talent.

Probably not long. We started women's lacrosse in 2010 and were already finishing in the top 5 with a few years.

Well, at this rate, we will probably add 6 teams from the ACC in the next 10 years sooooo, I’ll go 10

Texas A&M has a very popular LAX program.
Would love to see the sport gain traction in the conference.

UGA and Cocks would be good programs. Both states have really good high school LAX.

SEC programs wouldn't need good in-state programs. Only 2 girls on our roster are from FL, everyone else is from MD/NY/PA/CT.

It's big around Atlanta.

Looks like the major metro areas - and Auburn - have it in Alabama.

A very long time, lacrosse in the north east is like baseball in the southeast...year round, tournaments every weekend
My son played on the best lacrosse team in Tennessee...pulled players from the entire state, we got smoked when we played good teams from east coast, northeast

The SEC needs to add wrestling, especially with OU and Texas coming on board.

We play in the Lone Star Alliance division (11 Division I teams and 27 Division II teams representing Texas, Arkansas, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma) of the Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA).

Looks like it is club.
Funny that TU doesn't play in that league

The major sec schools could win a title in ice hockey if we wanted, why? We have money to bring in the best players and coaches no matter where they are from and the population is shifting south as it is.
