I don't know about that. What you read on this board is one thing...reality is another. I was at a sales kickoff at the Swann during last years game. Everyone was in that sports bar in Downtown Disney and the crowd was split. The interesting thing is that it appeared to be PAC12 vs. SEC in the bar. Several guys from MSU and Bama came close to a brawl with a group from USC. Go figure. I wasn't agreeing with the OP...I was merely stating that we should (to some degree) support other SEC schools.

But why? Aside from the potential to add a few extra million dollars to your school (which is like a dime to you or me), what's the reason?

I hate all the other SEC teams, except the ones I feel sorry for, like Vandy or Ole Miss. But Ole Miss can go to hell if they win more than 3 games.

I think it's rather unique coalition we have in the SEC. I pull for other teams besides Bama. I love Bama, but that doesn't mean I have to hate the rest. I admit that I pulled for Oregon in the Nat'l Champ game ( I do have a brother that went there and I sided with him...cool place) but definitely claimed "SEC Pride" when Auburn won. It was also cool to hear Mizzou cheering "SEC SEC SEC" as they beat Kansas a couple of weeks ago.

Typically, the only time I want another SEC team to win is if one of them is playing Tech or Clemson. Some other exceptions are vs Ohio State, USCw, Notre Dame.

if georgia ever again gets to the point where they are in contention for an nc game and there is a question as to whether they should be there, either as a one loss sec team or an undefeated sec team over another undefeated team from a weaker conference, then you will know why you should pull for other sec teams....

I grew up in Tennessee now live out west. If you do not live outside of the south, I don't believe you have any clue as to how much the rest of our country HATES the SEC.
They absolutely loathe our conference.
I would normally not pull for another SEC team, unless they were playing Ohio State or Southern Cal, but going forward after learning this, I'll pull for the conference.

I do notice the "SEC Chant" is strong with our fan base.
That's because we've had a history of suck so most of our idiots actually think that when another team in the conference wins the National Championship, we get a Crystal Ball to display at our school too.
