Lane is right. What’s more, I’m starting to question the legal acumen of the SEC. In 2024, under a consent judgment filed in an antitrust lawsuit brought by the DOJ, ten states, and the District of Columbia, the NCAA agreed to stop enforcing the rule restricting DI athletes from transferring from one institution to another without sitting out a year. Unless the SEC wants to be on the receiving end of a federal court lawsuit for the next couple of years, why would the league even think about resurrecting its intraconference transfer rule?

Yet we have posters here who seem to believe that the SEC has immunity against those same antitrust laws.

It would still hurt the SEC schools more than other conferences because the best guys in the Portal overall will be very good players from the SEC seeking more money or playing time.

That’s Fair
What I’d like to see is the sit a year no matter where you transfer.

Still would not allow them to be immune from being guilty of Sherman Act violations. It's like some of you have no clue how college athletics even got to the point it's at now.
Seems like more of you have no clue on what freedom is or the reason anti-trust laws exist in the first place.
And it damn sure wasn't for shite like this.

You are still saying the same ignorant shite despite being shown facts that say otherwise.

Then why do we now have the transfer portal, NIL, Revenue Sharing, unlimited transfers, conference television deals, etc in place now?
