LSU, Florida and Auburn are the three loudest from my experience. LSU at it's peak is definitely head and shoulders the loudest I've heard, but I have a much larger sample size to pick from.

There's a pretty big drop-off after that, but Tennessee and Georgia can get rocking too. Bryant Denny for the Game of the Century in 2011 was up there too.

I haven't been to Kyle Field yet.

I have to say, I agree with LSU being number 1 so long as Baton Rouge isn't considered a major factor. Great atmosphere around the stadium, but the city feels like going to Legion Field for a game.

I will say that a day game on the home side is much more enjoyable than the visitor side. That sun will cook you and make you miserable.

Fact!! Sat on the visitor side when Virginia played there. Hot doesn't even describe it. I agree that best place is my couch with beverages, food and bathroom within 20 feet.

I know this will seem biased but,

1. wtf is gsn?
2. list is garbage
3. to prove my second point, A&M is number 2.
4. Say what you want about Ole Miss but the Grove is universally known as a top tier gameday location and these meth burnt mouth breathers have it middle of the pack in the SEC?

I'd say top 5 in any order would be LSU Bama Ole Miss Georgia and Auburn

Empire State?

Officially, Georgia's nickname is, "The Empire State of the South". "Peach State" is the much more popular nickname that's printed on license plates, etc.

That's because you've never opened a book before. That's because you can't read. That's because you're an Auburn supporter. That's because you're a dummy.

I've been to the grove 3 times. All 3 were for UGA games so it's not like I went when they played ULM. I find the grove to be overrated personally. It's simply a shite ton of tents all crowded together in the same space. It looks neat, I can see why it's fun for ole miss fans, but it's not the grand tailgating oasis it's made out to be. No music or generators or grills and whatever other restrictions they have. Your tent is also 2 inches from the next tent, there's no sense of personal space. There is tailgating at jsut about every other SEC campus that is just as good/fun.

You're entitled to your personal opinions, however I stated that it is universally known as top tier. That can't be disputed. I provided examples.

Just because Georgia decided to start calling itself that doesn't really mean anyone else does.

Not sure I completely agree with the list, but overall there's not a bad environment in the conference. As a matter of fact, I actually enjoy going to Vandy. Easy in, easy out, not really a bad seat in the stadium. Their football fans are usually pretty cordial. Nashville is also a pretty cool city.

I personally thought UF was the loudest away stadium that I've been to, but I'm pretty sure its like most...It depends on the opponent, game time, and how well your team is playing.

Williams Brice can get rocking, but then again a lot of the factors above can come into play as well. We have an old saying, "If it ain’t swayin’, we ain’t playin.’”

Couple of player comments below...

“I definitely felt that was the loudest stadium I played in this past year,” Mond said. “It’s definitely a hostile environment…” – Kellen Mond

South Carolina, that’s been one of my favorite games my freshman and junior year,” Mann said. “The energy there is crazy. You wouldn’t think so because it’s not that big of a stadium, but I’ve had some of my best kickoffs there because the energy is amazing…” Braden Mann

“That’s probably the rowdiest student section I’ve seen. That’s the rowdiest stadium I’ve been in,” Crockett said. “It was a great atmosphere. It was way louder (than LSU and Florida) on the field. That’s the first game I couldn’t hear anything Drew was saying, and I was right behind him.” - Mizzou RB Damarea Crockett

Interesting note from Drew Lock on atmosphere at Alabama: "Our South Carolina game was actually way louder than that game."

It's not very often that South Carolina gets mentioned in a Washington State press conference…Leach's Cougars are sitting pretty at 5-0 with a Saturday night trip to 4-1 Oregon's Autzen Stadium on deck. While it's widely considered the loudest stadium in the Pac-12, Leach doesn't seem impressed as he listed eight spots off the top of his head that are definitely louder.

Among those, South Carolina's Williams-Brice Stadium.
"Definitely that one end zone at South Carolina is louder," – Mike Leach who spent 1996 and 97 as Kentucky's offensive coordinator,

“It’s extremely difficult to come here to Columbia and get a win,” McElroy said. “They do a great job with the fan base and the student section is electric. I remember vividly (in 2010) the stadium shaking, both in pregame warmups and when they got the lead. It says a lot about their fans, their environment, their game day atmosphere and the amount of pride they have playing in front of their own people.” – Greg McElroy

UGA WR Michael Bennett said. “We kind of let the atmosphere get the most of us. I think that definitely happened in 2012.”

“I just don’t want to feel that feeling again,” UGA senior inside linebacker Amarlo Herrera said. “They get loud and they stay loud. It’s crazy. It’s hard to stay focused.”

I think AU has one of the best pre-game atmospheres in College Football once you enter the Stadium. Outside the stadium they are all pretty much the same since the security issues of 9-11. Look for it to get worse.

I think most such rankings take more into account than crowd noise from drunk yahoos.

I'm not talking about Samford, we know how UGA fans are. I was talking about the Band Intro and the Eagle flight before kickoff. I think the pre-game highlight at Samford would be Ugga taking a shite in the endzone.

I'm not saying who says it or who doesn't, I'm simply telling you the facts. Some quick googling suggests the nickname has been around for hundreds of years, right after civil war time. You can take umbrage with it all you want but that doesn't change the fact that that is a nickname of the state.

Anybody from Georgia knows Empire State of the South is a thing. Don't really use it much or care, but it's a thing.

yeah like I said we learned that in 8th grade in our mandatory GA history class. I don't know a single person who uses it or references it, but it's still a thing.

Then you should take a 4th grade class in Georgia history.

Maybe we should require some type of citizenship test when people move here.
