Miami program has never recovered from that game. That was nail in coffin for that giant

Yup, they really fell off the face of the Earth after that arse whooping. The LSU-FSU brawl seemed pretty intense.

There's no denying that at the moment. I'm hoping yal's losses on the back 7 will be bigger than most seem to expect.

If we can't man-up in the trenches, however, it won't matter. It's crazy how these teams have flipped. Clemson used to always beat down the "skilled/talented" Cocks because of their advantage in the trenches. Now it's happening to us .

I also wouldn't mind Boyd and Morris not playing like epic douchebags every year against yal. Not that it would have mattered in some of the games, but they've both SUCKED in this series. Nuk is the only guy who's brought it every year against Carolina.

If it is the game I am thinking about, where Weurffel was teed-off-on a half dozen times after the whistle ... then truth be known it is why Spurrier wanted to leave UF because the Department did not want to back him in a fight against the league and officials after that game.

That was the '96 game at FSU with Wuerffel. I think the game you are thinking about is 2001 when Darnell Docket was caught twisting Earnest Graham's leg and injuring him before our make-up game with UT. Spurrier was not to happy about that and I remember some people saying he was upset Foley didn't make more of a fuss about it.

I go back to Coach Howard days, so naturally I remember the Charlie Pell and Danny Ford days very very well.

Ford always had good defenses and grind-it-out offenses. If he had a 7-0 or 10-7 lead going into the 4th qtr the game was over because that defense was going to bow-up and he was going to burn clock with his running game.

The other thing Ford always seemed to have was great special teams - big legged money kickers.

I agree though, to a great degree, fortunes have changed because philosophies changed although to the best of my memory Ford never had much of a passing game although he managed to work it in the option from time to time to throw a wrinkle in the works. I mean he was always 85% run, 15% pass to the best of my recollection.

You're right and that makes sense. I remember the leg getting twisted now that you mention it.
