20th anniversary of the Longhorns’ fourth and most recent national title.

25th anniversary of Oklahoma’s seventh and most recent national title. (Yuck)

40th anniversary of the SugarVols. If not for the two ties, they would have been national champs.

50th anniversary of Oklahoma’s fifth national title.

55th anniversary of Longhorns’ third and last national title under DKR.

60th anniversary of Alabama’s third national title under Bear.

65th anniversary of Ole Miss’ unbeaten SEC championship season which is considered a national championship by some outlets and the school.

70th anniversary of Oklahoma’s third and final national title under Wilkinson.

75th anniversary of Oklahoma’s first national championship in football.

75th anniversary of the great debate of who was more deserving of the national championship between Tennessee and Kentucky (legit gripes). Both programs claim a national title.

60th Anniversary of Arkansas forcing the AP Poll to vote for a national champion after the bowl games were played.

10th Anniversary of this...

You're welcome Alabama.

The 4-month anniversary of Ohio State's last national title.

This is on topic because the Buckeyes beat 2 SEC teams in the playoffs.

Be very thankful for the new playoff format. Otherwise, Ohio would be a 2-loss regular season team, again, and just got handled, again, at home, vs the wolverines. No way they would have been remotely invited to a 4-team playoff, again. Day's job would never have stood that buckeye meltdown without the redemption of an expanded playoff.

Funny how fine the line can be.

Fans of teams that get humbled by Vanderbilt should never talk about someone else's loss. It was much worse than Michigan.

If making a 12-team playoff is so easy, why couldn't Alabama do it?

You don't make a 4-team playoff, and Ryan Day doesn't see the light of a 2025 season in Columbus without 12 teams being invited. FACT.

BAMA's problems are completely different, and regardless of opinions over here in Idiotville, BAMA has to transition to a completely different philosophy of play. Year 2 at BAMA still how little comparison to Ryan Day's struggles to finally seal the deal after years of futility.

The ohio state university would be a perennial 8-4, 9-3 team in the SEC!
The weekly grind would have you begging to get back to the “big.”

I do not think it is news to anyone that Ohio State would not have made a 4 team playoff. But Ryan wasn't going anywhere. Who would they replace him with?

Struggles to seal the deal? This was only his 6th season. Most coaches take much longer than this to win a title.

Like Alabama? Both Ohio State and Oregon would have won the SEC last season.

Tennessee lost to a 4 win Mississippi State team. There is no world in which Tennessee would deserve that title over us. 1950 National Champs = Kentucky.

Tennessee finished ranked higher than Kentucky. Wildcats won the SEC because they had more wins but both had one loss. Vols defeated Kentucky H2H.

If this is any indicator….

I'm confused. OU was voted #1 in both major polls that season.

Yes, that is correct. Sooners lost in the bowl which was an exhibition then, for their only loss. Years later, the entire season is looked at as a whole and that’s when you can have discussions in this regard.

It's one thing to discuss, it's another thing to try and retroactively claim.
