For a single character comparison that would work, but the Masters were the only real smart group. I love Littlefinger and the Spider's characters for sure.

Haven't read the books, but going by the TV series so far.

Auburn = The Wildlings, Nick Saban is the Knights watch.South of the wall = College football.

You do realize that Missouri is south of the Mason Dixon.

I'm marking this one as a moral victory for UT.

edit: Ignoring the weird brother of course.

Not only that, but they were Southernly-sympathetic. Missouri irregulars burnt and pillaged the state of Kansas for being Yankees.

The Maesters are an order of scholars. They are more servants than a "House" in the game of thrones. They hold no lands or armies. Their relevance to the entire story is minimal and they do not partake in the violence of the books, other than a possible poisoning.

As the SEC is an athletic conference whose teams go to war with one another; A house or group of people that actually has a role in the wars is more viable. I understand that vandy is very scholarly, however they have an army and go to war with other teams in the SEC.

Petyr Baelish has a House, lands, castles and power. His army is quite puny(just like Vandy) and he uses his intellect to win instead of violence. He learned this at a young age when he was bested in a sword match by a Stark.

I think what you're clumsily getting at is that a better comparison may be the House of Arryn, as they're one of the great houses.

Because Jon Arryn was basically murdered for being smart, and because of the connection to the very clever Petry Baelish, this works too.

I still like calling them the Maesters.

5) Georgia- House Stark: A very much respected and old house, House Georgia you come to respect simply from reputation. The blood of the very first men in this country flow through this university. Their leader is a very much respected man and seen largely as honorable, despite maybe a few obvious flaws. Recently this university has been in a world of shite and nothing has really been going their way, despite the fact it should, due to their university's age, reputation, and vast amount of land and influence. It does seem to be just a matter of time before they rise once more.

The university itself is north of some of the Eastern portions of it, so I stand by my statement.
