Finishing third in your division is the pinnacle?

You do know they decided to stop playing us right?

It will take a couple years for us to retake the state back.

So do you see AM moving into the dominate football program in the state of Texas in a couple years?

I am tired of conference expansion. It waters down the cohesion of the conferences and kills rivalries. That being said, if the SEC has to add two new members, here is my order of preference:

1. UNC: Best prize that is still out there. Great school, great basketball, ok football, tons of fans, new state for the SEC.

2. Clemson: Hands down the best cultural fit. I know it doesn't add a new state, but it is a solid school that just feels like it should be SEC. Adds a solid football program and brings a very good rivalry completely inside the SEC.

3. FSU: Similar to Clemson in that it is a good cultural fit, had a good football program, brings a good rivalry completely inside the SEC, but doesn't add a new state.

4. Virginia or Virginia Tech: Would expand the SEC footprint into another southern state. UVA is the better school, Va. Tech is a better football program and probably a better cultural fit.

5. NC State or Duke: Both are second banana in the state of NC. Duke of course is a better school and has a great basketball program. NC State is pretty mediocre, but I think they have potential.

Purple Baylor would be awesome. I mean look at this atmosphere and excitement they have for their new stadium of 46k!
You think Duke/UNC/UVa are any better?

Duke would look like that and maybe UVA on occasion. At least they bring something else to the table in terms of overall AD and academically though. There is a reason Purple Baylor was not brought along to the Big 12 originally. If they aren't winning big the local HS's will have more fans and they suck as an AD and are mediocre academically with fewer living alumni than A&M has current students. Fort Worth is a nice town though!

North Carolina and Virginia.

Then we kick out Missouri and Kentucky.

Then grab Texas and Duke.

A&M Offer:

quote:

"We are willing to play [Texas] every year," Loftin said. "Any place, any time we can agree on."

Texas response:

***Crickets***

There is your source, and proof of who is scared of who.

We already are the dominant football program in Texas, we are killing it on the field and in recruiting compared to our competition. It's the '80s and early '90s all over again when we won 6 SWC Titles and beat Texas 10 out of 11 in terms of feel though obviously we don't play them anymore. The A&M thrashing of OU in the CB after OU had destroyed Texas so thoroughly has really killed the momentum for the sips, esp on the heals of Johnny Heisman. They desperately tried to get either of the 2 WR's that recently decommitted from A&M due to all the talent we had coming in and got rejected by both.

Texas is reeling and the rest of the schools in Texas are hopelessly far behind A&M with no real chance of catching up. You really can't understate how much the SEC move combined with a great coaching hire and Heisman winner have changed fortunes in the State of Texas in short order. The tears from the folks here in Austin are delicious.

No, not dominate. We can be a player though, which is more than what we were in the Big 12.

I find it interesting that a UF is giving a program shite about apparently ending a rivalry, even though tu ended it, especially considering how UF pussied out about playing the U every year

What better proof is there other than an open offer is on the table?

Do YOU have proof that despite this offer WE are the reason the game won't continue?

The fact that the rivalry is completely one-sided in favor of Texas?
