Ohio State hasn't exactly proven themselves against any world beaters thus far this season. The only team they have beaten this year that is currently ranked in the Top 25 was Texas and that was an ugly win at home.

No doubt and an excellent point. I guess I tend to give OSU the benefit of the doubt because over the recent past they have done well. But your point is valid.

I’m a Husker but I love SEC football.

Now, I’m also a very proud native Southerner and have family throughout the Deep South and Texas. I’m old enough to remember when the SEC had to kinda fight and claw for the national respect it enjoys today.

Regardless, SEC fans are generally as batshite crazy as Husker fans (and I mean that in a very good way).

In “my” conference (B1G), Ohio State, Penn State and probably Michigan are the only other fan bases who are as completely batshite crazy about football.

I just love the insane, life or death, completely irrational level of importance that comes with week to week SEC football.

It makes it fun. Life itself can be enough of a grind. There should be some “fun”.

Would like to see the actual metrics here considering there are no neilsen ratings on SECN games. That makes me feel this is a bit clickbait.

If Ohio St vs Rutgers (what seems like) every week doesn't get you excited, nothing will!

you have fanbases, and you have alot of people tuning in to see the top teams, probably hoping they'll lose

Vanderbilt has been in big matches this year with a good team and QB...are they all the sudden a national ratings mecha? No...people want to see them beat Alabama and Texas

if Rutgers was a top 5 team, everyone would be watching, just the way Indiana is getting eyeballs now

Yeah I know what you mean about not risking your family in Tennessee’s rusty old hulk of a stadium. An all out battle between the UTk fan’s mustard bottles and UTa fan’s water bottles flying in the air at each other could be dangerous.

Funny you say that because Texas plays Tennessee next year in Knoxville. I just know that will be toxic matchup between the fan bases.

That should be a wild game!

I remember Ohio State and Texas played a regular season game some years back and more TVs tuned in to watch the game in Birmingham than in either Columbus or Austin. Bama fans be like:

It’s great how much y’all Bama fans appreciate football!!

Yeah, my little grandson will only be 1 1/2 years old then, not quite old enough to ride shotgun with me, ha…

It's by far the worst of the big 2 conferences. That conference and stale bread have a lot in common.
