A&M's stats should get a little boost with MSU and UTSA still on the schedule. Plus we already faced Bama & Auburn so our run stats should improve as well. However we do still have OM so our passing stats may take a hit.

South Carolina is pretty clearly #6 defensively. Impressive turnaround there.

Bob Shoop has been a pretty big disappointment at UT... I know they've had some injuries, but that can't be a total excuse for how they've played at times.

Mind doing the offenses for the top 5?

Fournette might break another record, he was only 75% against Ole Miss.

No other conference plays defense better than the SEC top to bottom.
Clemson and FSU do a good job against ACC competition.
I wonder what LSU and Auburn would do if they could get a do over to start this year? Clemson and Wisconsin might have an extra loss.
Auburn has really improved. Not a knock but wasting time on that 3 QB whirlybird shite was just stupid as hell.

I agree, not the same two teams today as the start of the season.

Thanks for the post. These stats illustrate why the Hogs are struggling. Tough to face defenses like this in a 12 game schedule, when your defense sucks.

This cannot be right. I was assured by the rant that Aggy had the worst defense in cfb despite the stats saying they're one of the best.
Once October gets here Aggy is in trouble.

I knew Auburn would take a dip this week, but it was fun while it lasted.

The aggies rank 21st in scoring defense in the NCAA. Total, Pass ypg, Rush ypg all rank 74th in the nation or worse.
Here's some more perspective:
A&M total yards allowed 3,392
Florida 1,697
Alabama 2,196
LSU 2,197
Auburn 2,866
LSU and Florida have played one less game, but it's hard to group A&M anywhere near the same category as the rest, outside of scoring defense (A very important category though).

Heres the facts jack: UF was # 2 in the country in total defense, after this past weekend UF may be # 1 and believe it or not UGA was 18th in the country in total defense. Arkansas was/is 106th in the country in total defense.
Its UF & Bama that are elite in defense.
