Honestly, I question if Kelly still has the fire to do what it takes to win the SEC / NC or is he just a coach in his twilight looking one last big payday? It's not a question of can a dumbass win a NC at LSU? Miles and Orgeron answered that question.

He’s a terrible fit, like Harsin at Auburn

I don’t doubt he can build a program. The question for all programs will be how they navigate the new landscape of college football. Including school, athletic department, coach, boosters, etc.

That will be the key moving forward.

Kelly has won everywhere he's been.

If we were in continuation of the status quo, he'd have LSU at least as a contender each year.

Who knows what will happen with the paradigm shift that is underway.

I think LSU is in fine shape with Brian Kelly, he put together very good teams and was contending at Notre dame with no talent, brought Cincinnatti to major bowls and he will bring a level of team management to LSU they sorely need

No offense, and I have no ax to grind with LSU....I do hate ND, so maybe my opinion is tainted a bit because of that....but....

He never contended. Every time he made the playoffs he was blown out. Not playing in a conference that tells me that his teams were the product of weak scheduling and media hype.

A for having no talent? That would be on his recruiting. He was at a Blue Blood. To many, still a premier program supported by a huge fan base spread across the country and a program with very deep pockets. If he had no talent that would be on him and his recruiting.

brought Cincinnati to major bowls

You mean when he got beat by them this past season? yep. that took Cincinnati to a big bowl.

He might do well at LSU....he might not. Only time will answer that.

You just said that he did not recruit ell at ND, of all places. What kind of team management do you see him excelling at?

When I think Brian Kelly at LSU I think 9-3.

Considering we just 5-5 and 6-7 I will take that

Just let it go bro.
These fricks will never give LSU credit for anything.
Go back to 2019 and read the threads.

We credit you losers for sucking all the time. And for being the whiniest fanbase in the universe.

Maybe you should. Louisianna might improve dramatically.

I still think he's a poor fit.

This and he has been successful at his previous stops but he didn't really do anything that impressive at ND. He out talented everyone he played in the regular season and his teams still seemed to come out flat in the majority of their games. He can't get away with that in the SEC.

I don't think he's a bad coach by any stretch but I don't think he is going to bring LSU the kind of success they expect.

He is a good coach but LSU is a huge culture change for him. Time will tell
LSU basically needs a Trump personality running the football program Talking about politics being 'the swamp', DC has nothing on BR.

Beholden to nobody, tells everyone to get in line or frick off. Saban did that.

I think Kelly has the personality and weight to do that, I don't think Napier (for example) does.

No one ever will. Theres only one saban and he dumped their arse almost 20 years ago.

Kelly gets outcoached every time he faces a good opponent. Theyll be hiring another doomed coach in a few years ans convincing themselves hell be their savior all over again.

They may have to ask their coaches to take a pay cut again.
