I've been seeing a lot of boards/media personalities mention SEC bias in the polls. Clearly, I do not agree, but does anyone think that conferences, specifically the PAC-12, are actually stronger than the rankings their teams have? If you like at the BIG 10 outside of Mich and OSU, they are pretty awful. Outside of Georgia even the SEC hasn't looked very dominant. Initially I was against a 12-team playoff but I think this year justifies the expansion. Just wanted to see what you guys think.

Well they can continue melting. Then when the king of their conference (Washington, Michigan state, Michigan, Oregon… etc) plays the sec runner up, they’ll get their doors blown off, again.

They’re just tired of the SEC dominating their candy asses.

Reality is…

The timing of your loss matters. Losing later in the season much more impact vs losing earlier in the season.

Recency bias is more real vs conference bias.

The SEC has made every single college football playoff final since the first one in 2014. That’s not bias.

Question for you and anyone else who thinks there is an SEC bias.

What conference do the vast majority of NFL players come from?

If there is a bias, it’s fricking warranted.

It’s not bias. It’s just the truth. 6 different SEC teams have won a total of 14 NCs since the BCS era. No other conference comes close. They can piss and moan all they want.

I’m somewhat sympathetic to the argument that the middle of the conference can sometimes be slightly overrated. But the top few teams? Not at all.

frick a 12 team playoff. The SEC has dominated for literally a generation. We earned it.

Since bowl season of last year, the pac 12 is a pathetic 2-12 when playing a non Pac12 power 5 opponent. Those 2 wins were against a less than .500 Michigan State, and a 1 game above .500 Wisconsin.
The pac12 is a joke, the SunBelt is tougher than the pac12

It's the fans that drive the conference. The SEC is so strong because of the fans AND the fertile recruiting grounds. Ohio and California have plenty of talent but the fan support in other conferences is weak compared to the SEC. We demand excellence and get it.

Crazy part is the way the bracket would be set up, a 12 team playoff would probably result in 3 SEC teams in the final 4.
