re: LSU to reshape system of CFB coaches contracts?
Posted by 5iveEuax4eaux on 10/30/25 at 1:44 pm to JimTiger72
Why wouldn't they? Kirby is the highest paid coach in CFB right now at 13 million a year. With this contract it would only take 10 wins a year to get to 11 mil which is more than Sark and Lanning. Hypothetically if the new coach earns a bye he could earn 13 million in his first season without winning a playoff game. It took Kirby 9 years and 2 national championships to get a contract like that.
I'm pretty sure all of the big name coaches are confident they could win 10 games a year at LSU with the resources available. Heck we even avoided having to play Bama and UF every year.

I think the most important part is when he replied to someone saying that he knows for a fact Sheppard is waiting on a call. Most of the media pretty much agrees he wouldn't go to LSU because he's going to be a head coach in the NFL soon. But all the former players seem to think the opposite.
I have no clue how Sheppard would perform as the head coach of LSU. But I do know that usually when a guy's former teammates all agree he would be a good coach, the guy usually ends up being a really good coach. There are multiple examples in every sport having success right now.

I took that to mean he knew the team couldn't run the ball with just 5 lineman so they couldn't use the spread as our main offense. If he did it would be too predictable because the qb can't run so they would have to switch personnel every time they wanted to run the ball

I think you got the wrong guy. I agree with you

To be fair most of those guys would have transferred in the old era too because they either suck or the coach that recruited them got fired.

We played a bowl game with a WR at QB. No matter what happens Saturday this program is light-years ahead of where it was when Kelly got here.

The cheapest women's ticket on stubhub is 9 bucks. The cheapest mens ticket is 5.90. All the women's games are 95% sold out already. The men not so much.

He didn't fail. He made the best business decision because he knows what you said about the two sports that make the most money.
The PMAC is going to fill itself for either team as long as they are winning. It was easier to hire a sure fire dominant coach for the women's team than the men's team. Mulkey pulls in the money for the basketball side. Woodward was able to take a chance and save money with the McMahon hire. Now he's in a position to pay a small buyout and go big for the next coach he you wants
Kelly was hired to make sure the football program didn't bottom out. His track record said there was an acceptable floor for the program if you hired him. It costs money to get a coach like that to leave a program like Notre Dame. People act like LSU just ran to Kelly with a blank check. They tried to sign him for less and he said no. Football is the money maker so there is no way Woodward could take a chance on the program getting worse than it was. Now he's in position to pay the huge buyout and take a chance and save money on the next hire. He can hire a young guy with promise because the program is more stable than it was when Kelly got here.

No you are dumb. He ended his life. They ruined it. Not knowing the difference is the biggest display of a lack of intelligence in this whole thread.

I've seen him in person. I've also seen Baker Mayfield and Bryce Young in person. He's bigger than Bryce was when he started at Bama and he'll be about the same size as Baker at OU after an off season in a D1 program.

Just last week this board was acting like dancing after a touchdown was a sign of bad character. This week we're praising guys for fighting. You really can't make this stuff up lmao

I probably would have done the exact same thing. Most of us would after knocking a guy into last week at 18 years old. That's my whole point

Never said he was wrong for doing it. I only brought it up because there are people acting like he never celebrated or made a scene after a big play.

BTJ was quiet but he had a whole lebron james powder toss routine that he did every time he scored. That's the same as dancing

The first big play of Jarvis's career he caused a fumble against Auburn on a Kickoff. He immediately got up and ran to celebrate by himself in the end zone while the rest of the team was trying to recover the fumble.

No you guys are just liars. If those guys could come back right now you'd take the dancing and shite talking and counting money on the field in a heartbeat. And we all know it lol

Did you make that point when ppl were bringing up past seasons as evidence the flashy stuff needed to stop or did you have that epiphany when you were looking for a reason to disagree with me lol

re: Ryan Clark has CTE right?
Posted by 5iveEuax4eaux on 9/4/25 at 10:22 pm to iamandykeim
That's exactly what he means. Tom Brady couldn't hold the starting job IN COLLEGE and was a 7th round pick. Drew Brees got drafted in the second and his team wanted to replace him with the first big gunslinger they could find. Peyton was back and forth with Ryan Leaf as QB1 in that class specifically because Leaf was more naturally gifted. You can't be a generational talent if their are other guys in your same class with more talent. But people will overlook all of that because it's RC. Which I understand. But RC being a tool doesn't change the fact that he is right.
