Yea I am - I'm not sure it really moved too much. Auburn has steadily moved up since the start of the season. I believe they started somewhere around #120 and have held on either side of #100 for a few weeks now.

Gene's Chin probably could tell you as he keeps track of Auburn's specific on KP and RPI pretty closely.

The BC loss is just a crusher for Auburn's RPI though. It's a weight around the neck that will just get worse as the year goes on and they struggle to win 1-2 ACC games.

It won't be that crushing if Auburn can pull out the next 3 ooc games. Mercer, Oklahoma, and Uconn - while not great teams this year - will be a strong enough resume down the stretch to overcome it.

A RPI 200+ loss is always crushing. Trust me, Alabama has plenty of experience with it. It just keeps popping up and never goes away.

It doesn't mean it can't be overcome, but it is such an eyesore that it always comes up in any resume discussion come late February and March. It just sucks.

What Frank Martin has done with the terrible program he inherited is amazing.

He is a fantastic college basketball coach and CEO of a program. 49-25 the last 3 seasons after going 67-91 the previous 5.

Not that it really matters, but I predict the Vols wind up at the bottom of the NCAA contenders or the top of the NIT contenders.

It definitely is a blow but not due to BC sucking. Our RPI would have been almost identicalhad we switched Texas Tech/Boston College results for example

BC losing in ACC play affects Auburn just as much if we had won

Next 2 games for Bama:

vs. Clemson (100 RPI) in Birmingham, AL

vs. Arkansas State (18 RPI) in Huntsville, AL

Alabama sits at a 125 RPI right now. If we want to have a chance at making the tourney this year, we need to win these two games. We've been playing better these past two games, so I feel like this is possible. Win those two, and you're 8-4 going into SEC play with 2 decent wins and 3, maybe 4 quality losses (Dayton, vs Valpo, at Oregon and at Texas). No bad losses.

Auburn's loss is also a loss for the SEC and it is felt in the RPI's of all of Auburn's opponents especially.

I looked before the BC game. We were still in the 100's. The overall Kenpom rankings fluctuate year to year from good to useless. The real value comes from the statistics if you bet on college basketball. You can really come up with some solid formulas.

If the NCAA used the Ken Pom rankings it would but fortunately for all of us they don't and our RPI of 58 isn't going to hurt anyone. Losing to BC was bad and we feel bad about it but the only team it's going to hurt is Auburn if we somehow find our way onto the NCAA bubble.
