LSU won the SEC in 09 at 27-8 (13-3) and the committee put us as the lowest 8 seed in overall #1 UNCs bracket....
Hey man, we were co-East champs with UT that year and missed the tournament all together. We got bounced out of the first round of the NIT by a Curry-led Davidson team.

, but don't they have a very suspicious history of always getting paired up with UNC in the early rounds of the NCAAT?
Greenville, SC/2017 - Jax FL/2015 and ...(drumroll) --- Raleigh NC/2008.
eta - we all recall the Greenville site was orginially Charlotte until the bathroom bill in NC caused the NCAA to move the tournament.

If only Rick Ray had been a serviceable coach. SMH
Worst hire in recent SEC history in a Big 3 sport. I mean, he was the number two assistant at the basketball powerhouse that is Clemson. Nothing about this guy said head coach material. A true panic hire by loafers.

Just gave it a quick look, they were actually in UNC's bracket in 2007 too but would've met in the Sweet 16. Arkansas didn't get that far.

I am not saying this to mock the Tide basketball program, but how the heck do you pull that off?
I mean, some good years, some bad, quite a few average ones... sure. But almost every year being average?
It's really kind of amazing to hardly ever have a "bad" year but almost as infrequently have a Top25 year.
Regardless of coach, it's almost 3 decades that you can just pencil in Alabama to be somewhere between an NIT 4 seed and NCAA 10 Seed.
