Congrats to the SEC’s Big 6!!!

The only SEC programs hitting over .350

As expected, LSU sits at the top of the SEC with a lineup that is far superior to the 2025 LSU Tigers who, of course, won the program’s 8th College World Series.

The surprises of the SEC have been Missouri and Oklahoma, who have proven to be the two best teams that paid to come over from the Big12.

The following programs have failed to hit above .300 and should go ahead and make plans to watch the NCAA Tournament from their couch. So embarrassing.

So can I just pick any random statistic and draw a big 6 list from the 6 leaders? Just making sure I understand how this works.

…if you’d like!

We already know who the SEC’s Big 6 are though.

Just look at the OP

Meh, pitching ERAs are always inflated and never accurate.

Piggy just can’t hit, yet again.

LSU set the program record in defense in 2025

…before returning their entire OF and SS.

Piggy has 4 starters hitting under .225…not good.

LSU didn’t lose a home series to Kent State

.982 fielding percentage? I highly doubt that is your record.

Vandy and Arkansas both had better fielding #s last year

Yes, LSU set their program record in defense in 2025

LSU has also led the SEC in strikeouts the past 2 years.

The greatest HC and pitching coach are at LSU

Pitching

1. Texas 1.53
2. Oklahoma 1.96
3. Ole Miss 2.51
4. Texas A&M 2.57
5. MSU 2.61
6. Ark 2.61
.
15 Missou 4.18
16 LSU. 4.23

Oklahoma is top 2 in both hitting and pitching. Impressive but early.

Of guys who will actually start this year, LSU has made 3 errors as a team. Tanner Reaves has made 2 at third. He will not be playing third. He's actually been platooning in the outfield while Stanfield has been hurt. His role will likely be pinch hitting once Stanfield gets healthy. This was also his role on the team last year due to his poor defense. Ethan Clauss, a true freshman way down the depth chart, made an error at the end of a 21-7 blowout the first weekend. You won't see him playing much outside of mop up duty in midweek games.

Regardless, LSU has 6 total errors as a team, despite playing a bunch of guys who won't see much time as the season progresses. They have a team fielding % of .976, marginally worse than their .981 last year

Do you think Texas will be in the top half of the SEC in hitting since they failed to do so last year?

#1 ERA in the SEC went 0-2 vs UTSA in a home regional..

Not good.

no I don't. I'm just posting era since it matters, like batting average. We will live and die by the mound this year.

Not trying to suggest we have the best team. Simply posting statistics since that's what we're doing in this thread.

We'll have a good team. The problem is, the sec is loaded with good teams. that's why it's so damn good.
