Texas probably already has a national seed. Texas starters, pitching especially could use 8-12 days rest. What's to gain in playing this or another game? Maybe a next to worthless title and trophy, or a broken foot to your best pitcher.
Entertaining to see sneezy and a Dawg get all worked up over nothing.

No regular season title, no tournament title.
Objectively not a championship team

You don't rest pitchers that long pretty much ever, that's why Volantis is in now to get work with the weekend likely over.

Schloss is an odd duck. We're practically guaranteed a hosting spot for the first two rounds of the big tournament, so to him it's just a scrimmage, an opportunity to give little-used pitchers some playing time. I don't like it as a fan, but maybe it's the smart thing to do, what do I know?

that Hogs LF play reminded me of that one last year vs. LSU
Posted on 5/22/26 at 7:12 pm to tBrand
This score reminds me the last time we played Texas. Didn’t hogs sweep horns last year??
Posted on 5/22/26 at 7:12 pm to tBrand
TX obviously didn’t care per the pitching rotation. But I think it’s the same lineup that has only scored 1 run

Exactly! Did he tell batters not to hit too? Since it’s a meaningless game?

So you’re saying van horn hates orange teams?

So how many national championships has Schloss won with this solid strategy?
Yep. Zero.
I get it. The data says it’s not working though.

If Dietz is OK can he throw tomorrow? Provided we don’t frick this up…and we are capable
Posted on 5/22/26 at 7:14 pm to WPS85
to be fair, our hitters have disappeared in plenty of meaningful games this season. it's a pretty inconsistent lineup.

I don't want to take away from the Arkansas pitchers, they're pitching lights out. But when your coach starts your worst pitcher, it sends a message to everyone that this game really doesn't matter and I have to think it affects batting. But as tBrand pointed out above, our bats have gone ice cold plenty of times this season.
