Hmm. Well, first of all, it's not knotch, it's notch.

I think what you meant is not Minimum athletic eligibility, but rather minimum academic requirements to be eligible.

It's not "there's some" but rather "there are some" or "there're some".

And I think you meant "why don't you just demand..." instead of "you you".

Duke fan? I expected better.

And I believe you will find that SEC schools follow NCAA guidelines to the letter on academic requirements.

Moving on from oversigning--academic eligibility is the new mantra.

It's football, not Mensa.

Reading the OP, it's easy to see that this board isn't either.

NCAA admission standards are the same for all FBS schools. Some schools (namely, the major private academic institutions) choose to have higher standards for their athletes so as to not have them bring down the school's reputation. Only one SEC school (Vanderbilt) does this.

Contrary to popular opinion, it's actually HARDER for JUCOs/borderline academic qualifiers to get into SEC schools due to stricter transcript requirements. SEC schools often get players in by having them diagnosed with learning disabilities or other such loopholes, but not because it is "easier" to get in.

shouldn't other SEC schools want to be held in the same regard as Vandy, Duke, Stanford, Notre Dame, etc?

If so then why do they mimic the standards of Southern, Grambling, Alcorn, Alabama A&M?

Why wouldn't you want your program to have the highest standards?

If we were packing in 90k each Saturday to watch science experiments you might have a point. The standard is to win, and to do so without obvious Dexter Manley types. Rhodes scholars are gravy, not sought out without 4.4 speed.

Why doesnt Duke spend some of their money and built a decent college stadium? Or do you just like your high school field?

BTW: Alabama is the lead dog, How's the view back there?

like the "tutors" yall need to get your boys on the field?

Everyone knows that SEC collegiate athletic program's are just a bunch of ringers. Why do they call the ringers, because you degrade and sell out the purpose of College for some rings.

It just amazes me how someone can be so proud? "Why don't we just recruit from prisons and frick them taking classes....as long as we get our rings all is justified."

I don't know, it's why I am asking:

Can someone please post a link showing the minimum incoming GPA accepted per school, or average per conference.

PAC-12 vs SEC...average min incoming GPA, start there
