Did anyone actually click the link?

We’re doing things a little differently at Saturday Down South and ranking this year’s top SEC head coaches using a 2014 season projection only, taking into account end-of-year momentum, preseason expectations and program buzz. Prior coach of the year honors along with recent national titles don’t have as much impact as say, the brightness of a team’s spotlight heading into the fall.

Pinkel, the guy with the 8th best winning percentage in the BCS in the last 10 years, is 11th in the SEC?

Who did Mizzou piss off in the media? The lack of respect lately is staggering. The guy won the SEC East with an average of what, the 35th ranked recruiting classes?

Unreal man, the guy would have to go undefeated 3 years in a row for anyone to notice him.

U rustled bro?

It's caused by a lack of research done by the people that publish these lists. They hear an opinion that sounds reasonable and they run with it. Mizzou lost Sam? They're gonna be bad. Tennessee had a good recruiting class? They're gonna surprise people.

They don't dig at all, they just hear something they like and parrot it. I've only seen a few people mention that Tennessee is replacing everyone on both lines, but I've seen a ton of people say Tennessee will be a surprise team because of Butch's recruiting.

Then Mason shouldn't be on the list at all.

Tennessee was close to finishing at 7-5. They're not piss poor.

Add that influx of talent, especially at playmaking positions (Hurd, Malone, etc.), and, if they can get a QB who doesn't prefer the INT to the TD, they can make a bowl game.

Also, SEC head coaches worth their salt often have great success in their second year.

Gene Chizik - 8 wins to 14 wins
Dan Mullen - 5 wins to 9 wins
Will Muschamp - 7 wins to 11 wins
Mark Richt - 8 wins to 13 wins
Nick Saban - 8 wins to 10 wins at LSU; 7 wins to 12 wins at Alabama
Tommy Tuberville - 5 wins to 9 wins
