This does not take into account the garbage teams aggy has played . Georgia and Bama have played much harder teams . So of course Aggie diff is the highest

It's just a stats thread.

Do you Bama fans have to bring your insecurities into every single thread?

Anybody know if the CFP committee looks at this type of metric?

The stats are the stats. Same as every year when different teams had gaudy stats and the other teams complained about who they were against.

Like when the SEC East was down and the top teams feasted.

So don’t expect any apologies from me baw.

Here are the opponent adjusted Scoring Margins. NPG (Net Per Game) is the average (Score - Opponent Score). Adj NPG is adjusted for each team's opponents' average NPG.

AUB ________ (4.8) ________ (1.7)
TEX ________ (0.5) ________ (1.9)

Biggest cry babies in college football. LSU fans may be nuts but they don't hold a candle to these Bammers who think the entire sports world revolves around them.

I’m glad Alabama hasn’t lost to any garbage teams this year. Aren’t you?

Oh, wait…

Also, don’t worry; if we make it to the SECCG and play against Bama, Crimson Tide fans will continue to be able to complain about A&M only playing crap competition.

There are two serious problems with Sagarin or any other national rating system. First, there aren't enough interconference games between the major conferences to give good data. Second, most of the interconference games that occur happen early in the season, which means they don't account for the highly variable degree of team progress (or regression) during the season. Statistics based only on games within one conference are a much more useful analytic for intra-conference SOS, IMO.

Also, looking at the number of top 40 opponents to guage SOS is not very helpful because it's a deep ranking. You'd need to know where the opponents were placed in the ranking. If you carried that logic to the extreme, you could use top 100 Sagarin opponents, and every team in the SEC would be clustered together at 8 or 9 or 10 opponents.
