and all this talk about miles being too smart to be involved...that doesn't mean the man is totally clean. this whole thing just smells foul.
One of the most reasonable comments from an lsu fan about the whole thing I have heard in a bit. Not saying miles is guilty but no one really knows unless they are personally in the program or have been told by someone who is.
Hopefully the sec walks out of this. No team in the sec needs to be sanctioned. I don't even really wish it on bama. And that is hard to say.

He probably means so far this year. I'm working with last year's budget, the same Oregon's linked with.

Lyles is known among the inner circles to be involved with most major programs, including the big SEC guns. I'm not naive think he's working for just LSU.

We also all need to remember the NCAA is under fire and has taken a beating and they are looking for a lb of flesh from a school or schools.
#Winning.
The NCAA is the real screw up here. And they have to transfer the blame to someone else.

I believe that to be the case and what the NCAA was looking for from Oregon in all this. There was also a benchmark that they paid a similar amount for the same services as other schools. That will be a key point in determining if it was pure scouting info or payoff for pushing a kid your schools way
So far what has stood out about the allegations against Oregon is the amount of the payment and the timing.
Since the Oregon story broke I believe the recruiting service they used posted a "clarification" stating that the 25K price was a national or annual fee (I forget what they used, but the point was it allegedly was a fixed price and allegedly provided additional legitimate services)... so they might be ok RE: the amount
The timing would be suspect if it was after they had received scouting information and just before the Lache or someone else committed to them... those are questions I'd think teh NCAA would ask
But perhaps their best defense (like LSU?) is that they documented their expenses and listed them officially... rather than hiding or denying (that at least adds to teh impression they thought it was legitimate)

Last time I checked they've thrown illegal chop blocks at multiple teams, but I appreciate the peanut gallery chiming in.
As far as Sao being a Arky fan, that one's on me. I should have known better.

Well if you take Schad's tweet of LSU paying 11 recruiting services an average of $5300+ that would put our entire spending at $53k.
FYI, you're really bad at math....just saying

for real. just looking at his post history you should be able to tell from the lame joke attempts, tired flagship references and constant flaming that he's an Arky fan.

meh, ive lightened up on the dude. he's here to stay, so whatever.
but if LSU comes out of this with penalties, then you can't argue that he's squeaky clean anymore.

This is true. He had to have been with several teams, brothers got to make money and it looks less legit if just a select few schools.
What I find funny is back a few months ago when they were talking about the recruiting service au used in arky. I did some research on them. Several had down the schools they dealt with right on the home page. Now all the ones I found prior are scrubbed. Not to say they were all fishy but people are trying to distance themselves quickly in this mess.

I agree with what you posted. Do you know if it is true Lyles went and changed his fee for National recruiting services soon after the news breaking? I saw that several times that he did.
Posted on 3/14/11 at 11:19 pm to RockyMtnTigerWDE
Yeah I heard he added the 50K rate after.
Posted on 3/14/11 at 11:20 pm to NYCAuburn
we aren't gonna get in trouble its a fricking joke if anyone thinks we will. Everybody has dirt on everybody so shite isnt gonna happen to anyone. also if somebody fricked over LSU they would most likely go missing in the swamp

I agree with him too. If I remember right it wasn't changed, it was added.
Posted on 3/14/11 at 11:21 pm to RockyMtnTigerWDE
I don't know if it was changed. I think the package was added to what was on there.

seems like Oregon, auburn, and UT are the ones that should be worrying.
Posted on 3/14/11 at 11:22 pm to dkreller
the only one that should legit worry is oregon.

Hbt. I have said this from the beginning. Well at least lsu not getting anything.
