Yup, this is going to bite Coach Beamer in the butt in about 2-3 years when all the current "talent" on the roster is gone.
And you know what the most critical years are for a new head coach? Years 2 and 3...
Beamer is right where Harsin is with the barners. Put a product on the field that the guys can believe in and they will come. No coach is staying long if they can't recruit according to at least historical levels.
Gus could get near that top-10 level in recruiting almost every season and Harsin has to match that productivity sooner than later. Muschamp actually was productive with his recruiting in spite of laying numerous eggs on Saturdays.

Sam Pittman took over in December of 2019 at a time when Arkansas' class ranked 118th in the nation following the firing of Morris. Pittman and the Hogs had an impressive climb back to No. 30 in the Country and finished ahead of Ole Miss, Missouri, and Vanderbilt.

and thats a hell of a job, but there are a lot of variables in play when you take over a job in rough shape towards the end of the recruiting cycle. especially in a covid year when you cant actually get recruits on campus. Personally im not terribly worried about this cycle, The transfer portal has allowed you to almost work around a bad recruiting year, assuming you can recruit the portal. Big name guys just dont want to sit the bench much
