Al Capone and other gangsters use to stay in Hot Springs when things started getting hot up North.

Hot Springs was Vegas before Vegas. Also Babe Ruth played spring ball in that area.

Part of what I love about it. The old gangster/old days MLB mystique. Love visiting and staying at the Arlington, having a bit too much to drink at the Ohio club and detoxing in the spring the next day. Feel like I'm partying 1920's style

This is a troll thread but I will be honest.

There are a lot of woeful places in the Eastern part of Arkansas. Little Rock is... Little Rock.

Western Arkansas has some real gems though. Conway, Hot Springs, and other places have good wages and dirt cheap cost of living.

And NW Arkansas is NW Arkansas.

The state has its issues but is just fine overall. There are places, were I a younger fellow with a family, that I would move to in a heartbeat.

DLR was influenced by Jim Dandy. Black Oak Arkansas was a top five rock band in sales back in the mid 70s.

I didn’t get butt raped at the creepy gas station I stopped at somewhere between Hot Springs and LR a few years ago.

My son just got accepted there with in state tuition. May not end up going there but it was nice of them and I didn't expect the tuition thing.
