Georgia’s defense will lift them past UF

I agree. Florida had a lot of yds and tuddies, but they didn't look great on defense. Georgia made a second half adjustment and their defense is stout.

Very stoppable force vs imminently movable object

Both teams will be improved on offense / defense by jville. I honestly think it'll easier for UGA to improve on the offensive side in the meantime than it will be for Florida, but both teams have a long way to go.

Hate to admit it, but, given the schedules, it's hard to pick against Florida in the east right now. We'll know more with more games :)

We get 5 starters back on D. Think that will matter a good deal.

Its a lot harder to fix up a mess at QB.

Either way both schools have plenty of games to play before that one. I do think all eyes will be on this game for the East, unless Kentucky moves itself back into the picture.

We don’t even know if it is a mess yet.

Well we had to play our 4th string QB...

Yall are talking exactly like UF fans did before Kyle Trask. We know exactly what a mess at QB looks like

You had to play your 4th string QB because your starter, whom seemingly everyone raved about coming out of camp (AFTER Newman left) looked very underwhelming.

JT Daniels hasn’t even taken a snap yet

There is a very good chance he comes in there and plays well enough for our offense work.

Calm down, you don’t know anything yet

No one does. But I'd say UGAs problems right now are much more worrisome than UFs.

No, no, no. Just no. Fixing quarterback is much easier than getting back 5 starters.

I guess you're right. Oh dear what are we going to do. We are going to face MUCH more explosive offenses than Ole Miss!!!

I’m no more worried about it than I was last week. JT Daniels was always gonna be the long term answer. Until I see him play I’m not worried.

We finished with the #1 defense in the country last year. We return 83% of our defensive production, which is highest in the SEC. On paper, Georgia should have the best defense in the SEC by far.

So the fact that Jake Fromm was able to go 11-1 with last year’s defense should tell you we don’t need a Heisman winner at QB to be competitive.

Our post Newman starter hasn't been cleared for contact. One month ago:

1a Newman
1b daniels
3 mathis
4 bennett

We played our 3rd and 4th stringers (at start of fall camp) on Saturday.

This team will clearly look different with daniels in.

Expecting JT Daniels to go into live game action basically after being designated as "no-contact" before this week against Auburn in his first game?

There are no preseason games. Its 100% go time.
