Opt outs and Covid-19 were both part of the season for every team that played this year. The fact that Alabama handled them better than others adds to the team's greatness because it speaks to focus and drive.

Sure, but it also speaks to the level of competition they faced. Look at all the individual player awards won by Bama players this season. Almost none of these guys are the best at their position in terms of talent, but they're handed the awards through the prism of Bama's collective record. ama can't really claim the "greatest" of anything because deep down, we all know 2019 LSU absolutely SMOKES 202 Bama.

As an impartial observer and a fan of neither team, this I must say. Watching both teams closely over 2019-20 it's interesting. yes, Alabama's defense was a little suspect, but no worse than 2019 LSU. Yes, Alabama beat Florida 52-46, but LSU had close games also against Texas with only a 7 pt. win, and Auburn 23-20. Heck, although the score didn't indicate it (46-41) they didn't exactly incinerate a depleted Bama, although as I have said the final score was much worse.

Both teams awesome, especially Burrow that year, but from what I saw in those two years, Devonta Smith and Alabamas receiving corp was the best I ever saw, absolutelely, without a doubt. Chase and the LSU were great, but I got to go with Smith and co.. What impressed me the most though was Bama's QB getting the ball out so quickly and never seemingly targeting one particular receiver... They were all in play. Although he was not even close in overall talent to Justin Fields he was so , so superior in that aspect. I wouldn't know who would win between those two teams, but who really does.
