Sankey some kind of gun hating queer? News flash, WE ARE IN THE SOUTH AND WE LOVE OUR GUNS.

It sounds like Sankey is predicting trouble for the Mississippi schools with scheduling because other schools won't come to play them with these laws in place. He didn't threaten punishment.
Why you gotta let facts get in the way of emotion and politics?

has anyone tried an Echo trigger on their AR?
Not interested in a bump stock, but that trigger has me wanting at least one.

Just how perfectly SECish is this ?

quote:now you're conflating 2 different things. it is a fact that responsible gun owners have thwarted numerous mass killings. making sure responsible people have guns is a political/security matter, which is a totally different issue.
it is absurdly shortsighted to think someone with intent can't get a CC permit
quote:don't let anyone in law enforcement hear you call it a clip.
unloads his clip
quote:how is that different than the current situation only, now we won't have responsible gun owners to fight back.
someone crazy enough with intent could definitely plan this better than I
look, i'm not advocating guns in stadiums. i'm just saying that guns in the hands of responsible citizens is not a bad idea, in general.

How could anyone disagree with the Commish doing his job on this issue?
Are you really this naïve?
This is pure politics. The agenda is to push for a sway in public opinion to try and make the state government change a policy.
Sankey's job has nothing to do with being the SJW Paul Revere against guns. He's exposed himself as a liberal shmuck.
Guns are bell that liberals mouths water.

First, this is asinine. The article gives no indication that the SEC office has any inclination to sway MS lawmakers. Second, as stated earlier in this thread, the quickest way to get MS to do something is to tell them that they better not. You're way off base here.
Third, and most important: this whole thing has more to do with the Universities right to claim certain areas as private or public. Gun rights are an ancillary argument for the proponents of the bill, but really should have no role.
Naïve?

Sankey's job
He works for the University Presidents. He was informing them of issues which had already come up with Arkansas' similar legislation. It would be dereliction to not do so.

Stop being political Sankey. It’s a free damn country.

Why are states doing this shite? Truth be known, you would be shocked at the amount of iron already in SEC stadiums!

I'm all for gun rights and I'm a CWP holder but there are some places you should never be allowed to carry. Sports venues would be near the top of this list.
And Sankey isn't wrong.

Only a damn fool would be okay with guns being allowed in stadiums. A lawmaker that would vote yes on something like this should be in a nuthouse.Surely you Johnny Rebs and Cow bell clangers are nit on favor of this.

Only way LSU has a shot at beating State from here on out.

I am a strong proponent of gun rights. The Constitution protects gun rights and gun rights protect the Constitution. Having said that, guns in a emotional sports setting could lead to bad things which could ruin the sport as we know it.

We didn't need Sankey to tell us that it was a bad idea. Anybody with half a brain knows that sports, booze, and firearms are a recipe for disaster. Maybe it's just me, but I don't really care much for outside organizations getting involved in local politics.

Some one needs to get Roy Kramer out of the nursing home to whip Sankeys arse.
What the hell, the SEC needs to stay out of political shite.
