Do you think to get them earlier, that he offers them a cross conference game for each of the 8 schools left? Tell them you cannot have the top 4 and we won’t give you the bottom 4 but you get the middle 8.

It’s possible. But, I expect to be there in the fall of 2022. I also expect Texas to pay OU’s $75MM. The Longhorns will say that they won’t pay our portion, but I think we leverage their arse.

If anything ESPN pays for both Ou & Ut
ESPN still owes Ut $15M per until 2031, so indirectly, yes, maybe Ut pays via ESPN

Take their Longhorn money and push it to the Big12?

Lol please. We probably will pay your schools broke arse portion of the fees, but they will be repaid over a set number of years.

I think it would be in both conferences best interests to align in this way, SEC gets Texas and OU sooner, and Big 12 gets some good match ups to sell its TV partner. Like Bedlam, The Border War, A&M/Baylor, Texas/Texas Tech etc

Also, I've wondered if the Big 10, Pac 12, and ACC are scheming an "alliance" not to schedule better games, but to not take any schools from the Big 12 and force the SEC to wait on Texas and OU until 2025.

I still don't believe the other 8 are going to stand pat. The first sign of a West Virginia/Iowa State going elsewhere and the big 12 is over.

Dang, please don't work us over too bad in the negotiations

Leverage our arse for what? If we pay your 75 mil you're playing 11 AM games until the end of time

Texas and OU aren't paying for shite. The Big 12 is dead.

First off, the SEC doesn't control out of conference scheduling. Every school already has contracts lined up well into the future, so there's really no way to get this done without causing a huge mess.
Second, a few out of conference games (note: only Big XII home games would be covered under the Big XII TV contract) won't keep Fox from voiding the Big XII TV contract if they let OU and Texas go early. Essentially, in order for OU and Texas to leave early, and take their media rights with them, the left behind 8 are going to have to be paid whatever they will lose from Fox voiding the contract (ESPN might play along and keep the left behind 8 at the same pro rata rate to facilitate this). The earlier that happens, the more expensive it is going to be. I have a hard time seeing OU and Texas sacrifice enough payout money to make this work before 2024, maybe 2023. SEC might advance them the money, but a loan would be taken out of future proceeds.

Yeah I don’t believe any of these lies. If West Virginia and Okie State were offered by ACC they definitely wouldn’t take that tomorrow.
Kansas/Iowa State were offered by Big 10 would say no sorry, we are holding this down.

The Big12 will just hold their nose and play as long as their lawyers can keep OU and UT in that conference.

Ah, how cute, these guys don’t realize their program is the laughing stock of college football!

Where will they go? The B!G does not need/want Iowa st and the Acc/B1G does not need/want West Virginia.

Texas should have to pay for everything after all the money they made from that crap LHN.

With Bama and Auburn moving East, or a pod system being adopted, there won’t be cross division opponents. You might have a permanent pod opponent, like A&M and tu will be, but it won’t be anything more.
