So Arkansas says Pittman is safe for another year. What is the Rant’s opinion on this? Is it the right decision for Arkansas?

Upvote if you think they are making the correct decision keeping him another year.

Downvote if you think he should be fired and a new coach hired before next season.

Give him one more year and that’s it if it’s like this year or close to it fire him

I guess I should have clarified if it is right for Arkansas, not their opponents. Will edit thread.

Love Pittman but he should have been gone after they lost 7-3 to Mississippi State.

He is in over his head and it is only going to get worse when they have to replace Jefferson. Arky is just delaying the inevitable at this point because there is noway in hell he's still the HC next year at the end of the season

He lost both coordinators for the first time in his head coaching career. He deserves one year to get that right. He turned that program around rather quickly after the chad Morris dumpster fire. He also can recruit. If he can’t get it right with a much more favorable schedule next year, then make the call.

When you give someone a contract extension it should be in good faith in terms of giving that person enough support to achieve reasonable results.

Also, with the shift from divisions to a rotating schedule, there are many unknowns going into the new format.

Pittman dispatched the OC which probably provided him with enough of a benefit of the doubt to be able to coach at least an additional year.

He deserves another year.

Year 1 was Covid but they still won 3 more SEC games than they had with the previous HC. Year 2 finished ranked. Year 3 finished with a winning record.

They are bad this year but he should be allowed one more season to turn it around.

I like him, and I appreciate him arresting the downward spiral we were in after Chad. That having been said, yes, it is time to move him out the door and get someone else.

I don't see things improving next season.

Mind you I'm not baying for his blood and praying that he loses like some of our fanbase who have gone completely batshit crazy the last few weeks.

Seriously, if he's going to be the HC next season, he will have to overhaul the entire offensive staff and hope to retain most of the defensive staff.

He also needs to hire some former HCs as analysts to help mentor him and build confidence from.

Sam has been coaching all season with our confidence and the team has picked up on that and played the same way.

I was all for letting him go however I saw the team fighting to the very end. I was like this is a season of bad breaks. I was like her deserves another year then they played Auburn. That’s when I knew it was time to go. There was no effort. That indicated to me that he had lost the locker room. If there’s no effort with Missouri it time for a new voice.
