re: Saint Louis wasn't a terrible place for the SECT. I stand corrected.

SLU downsized too, we averaged around 18k before moving arenas. Love you.

you bumped a thread from March, which is weird and random to begin with, and are quoting an article that was written based on what they hoped to get not what actually happened. Golf tournaments last 4 days. It is not an apples to apples comparison to use a 7 day total for golf and compare to the attendance of actual games from the SECT.
Also not sure where you're getting those SECT numbers. The total attendance last year was 103,733 for 5 days. And that also includes a lot of people attending both sessions in one day, so they're counted twice whereas someone who is at the golf tournament all day is counted once.

2018 VU average attendance was 9,636 (and a terrible season)
2018 SLU attendance numbers (show me how they are selling out and averaging above 9.6K LINK
Looks to me like the Dores draw more and have a higher average attendance.

No, someone else did, but their comment was deleted. I just responded to a thread that was on the first page.

I was responding to the previous post.
Did not really care, just did not like it being accepted as fact that the SEC in Nashville had little or no economic impact, which is clearly not the case. I have been down there when the SEC tourney is on and you would have to be blind to see this is not the case (hell, even a blind person could hear the crowds).

Write this down, SLU will have better attendance next year than vandy. It will not be easy to get tickets.
Next.
Next.

1958 NBA Champions, baby.
Anything less of a conference title and at large bid for the tourney will be a disappointment for the Billikens.

Well you cared enough to post average, per day attendance numbers which aren't even accurate. The SECT in Nashville in 2017 had a total, 5 day attendance of 105,158 (no idea where you got 192k). That brings a one day average to 21,031 and a per game average of 8,089. In the semi-finals and finals, the average attendance, per game, was 13,049. Attendance for the SECT is difficult to quantify, however, due to you buying session passes and not individual game passes.
Yes, the SECT draws a good crowd (as long as Kentucky is still playing) but it is not in the same stratosphere as a major golf tournament. (The PGA didn't release attendance numbers for the tournament this past weekend fwiw)

So why is it a regular destination for early and regional rounds in the NCAA (and Missouri Valley Conference) tournament, asswipe ?

absolutely. Will be a big year for SLU

Nashville
2010 = 191,852
Since then attendance has been down as Cal has stated multiple times he does not care about the tournament. Not good for ticket sales.

After Situation 2, it will probably be the most important year in the history of the program.

Is there a mouse in your pocket or are you misusing the royal "We"?
Using SLU instead of MU is an interesting tactic.

Because it is a big city and the local sports authority pays good money to get it put there. Tampa and Denver are not hotbeds of college basketball but they have aggressive sports authorities.

Cmon seriously? We’re using numbers from almost a decade ago and an excuse now?
Regardless, patrons don’t pack out Nashville because it’s a better b-ball town that St. Louis. It’s because a ton of Kentucky fans live in the area already, especially as you get closer to Clarksville. They're everywhere.

So SLU for basketball and not MU basketball. Thanks for illustrating that MU is not the basketball school it thinks it is.

Nope. you're twisting words.
I went to the season opener against Iowa state, Green bay, SFA, braggin rights game, SECT against uga, and the ncaa game in nashville against fsu.
You're not doing good here.
