Lived there for awhile. Actually thought it was a pretty nice sports town too. Watched many an Alabama football game at Ozzies. They had alot to do as well - the Arch, the baseball, Bud, the Rams (back when I lived there), the zoo is huge, fishing, etc.

seven-day attendance of 200,000

PGA = 200,000 / 7 = 28.5K per day

SEC in Nashville drew 120,000+ UK fans but arena only had seating for a little over 19K

SEC (Nashville) = 192,000 / 5 = 38.4K per day

Just from venue the SEC beats the PGA on a per day basis
Considering UK brings another 100K that can't get tickets, I am guessing SEC tourney in Nashville brings way more bodies to spend on tourist spending.

SEC in St Louis only did about half what Nashville did and had far fewer UK fans in the city as St Louis is a baseball town, not a basketball one.

PGA had a ticket cap... would have been WAYYYY higher if tickets were released.

And this comparison is really, really dumb.

SEC is capped by the fire marshal and the actual physical seats

To you?

SEC in Saint Louis draws about half what Nashville does.

That is pretty relevant on a board about SEC sports and topics.

Hate to be the one to tell you this, the players said this was some of the best crowds they've ever seen.

Blue Mist is well known and documented.

I was down in a lawyers office (weekday / daytime) and looked out the high rise window and saw nothing but blue covering downtown. It was a surreal sight indeed.

Later that day it was on the newscast that the crowd of UK blue downtown was estimated at 120,000.

1 and dones have no frame of reference

It is what it is...

Ticket sales in Saint Louis (a bigger city) were half what Nashville did. Face it, basketball is not a big deal there. Major metro city and no NBA team, what does that tell you?

So we’re counting practice rounds for the PGA to actual games played in the SECT? What was the attendance for the actual golf tournament over 4 rounds?

I just used the 7 days and 200,000 number posted.

Is the 4 days of the actual tournament a subset of the 200,000 or in addition to it?

Yet a "mid major" school in SLU will draw bigger crowds than vandy. But ya, we hate basketball. go baseball go!

Chaifetz / SLU = 10,600

Memorial / VU = 14,300 (was closer to 16K before downsized for corporate)

You learn some funny math in Columbia North.

Jesus. Christ..

I said draw, not arena size.

SLU will sell out most games next year.
