re: Saint Louis wasn't a terrible place for the SECT. I stand corrected.

Been to Nashville a few times in that last few years. St Louis needs to take stock of what they have done with their downtown. Amazing.
I don't get the hate for Tampa on this board. Have always had fun there but it's been a bit since I have been there.
It's good for SEC fans to see the "far corners" of the SECfootprint.

What’s a bigger deal for St. Louis? The SEC Tournament or the PGA Championship nearby?

St Louis is a great city with a lot of history. It's also a great sports town.
kilo is right. The tournament created a lot of buzz here. Would have been a lot more had we not choked, but life goes on. We were happy to host.

I guarantee the SEC won’t pull as much money this year, thanks to y’all choking in the first game. Enjoy St Louis while it lasts

It will be back. Don't worry.

Attendance-wise they’re probably close. But the edge goes to the SEC tourney. Basketball has a broader appeal to the local crowd.

No way SEC tournament comes close to a PGA Championship.
This info is from the 2015 tournament. Qual Hallow was bigger last year.

No shite Sherlock. Bash all you want, but you’re a fricking clown to think the SEC fricking tournament come close to what a PGA Championship brings to St. Louis.

At this point, organizers are bracing for the onslaught of online ticket requests, which they hope will create another staggering figure: a seven-day attendance of 200,000 or more. Registration is winding down for prospective ticket buyers and sales will begin Aug. 14 after this year's PGA Championship ends in Charlotte. Capacity for the event remains undetermined. However, when the PGA Championshipwas held at Bellerive in 1992, 35,000 all-tournament passes were sold out a couple of months in advance. All-tournament passes for 2018 will cost $325, championship rounds will be $100 and Monday through Wednesday tickets will be $35. Fans 17 and under will be free. "The PGA Championship hovers around 200,000 -- that's not unheard of," Championship director Barry Deach said. "We're not holding to that, but it's pretty typical. We have various models we run across every venue, so it's a matter of ensuring our models have the right things in place. Until we get through ticket sales, we don't know."

What is the projected revenue that will be infused into St Louis from the PGA being held there?
NM
I looked at Rochester NY in 2013 and it generated 93M, 2014 was approx 100M. Based on that I agree the PGA generates more revenue of direct impact to the host city. The SEC tourney was expected to generate approx 20M.

Ok. I’ll eat crow (unlike you and your dumbass). There will be a lot more people here for the PGA event.
I didn’t see you back in the “to some up” thread.

They’re projecting $100M.
