heres a thought maybe its animal abuse for them to be bred like that.....
They need to add some new blood to the Uga line. It would be the best thing for Uga and for his fans. UGA isn't going to give up their mascot nor should they have to but they could definitely help his bloodline and future Ugas with genetic testing and some planned genetic diversity. It's not cost prohibitive anymore.

LOL @ all the non-Georgia fans on here all knowing what's best for the Uga line.
Que is 9. He's old for a bulldog. Thus, he ain't making a cross-country trip. Simple as that.
The Seiler's will do as they damn well please.

So you know more than the Seiler's?

No, it isn't. I've come across some humans who've seemingly been bred like this, too. :)
And they are found in Georgia's campus...
I kid I kid.

The problems with too much inbreeding in the mascot.
You are right, for years they only wanted UGA to be solid white, that is breeding recessive genes. When you continue to breed animals to promote the recessive genes, you get unhealthy animals.

It’s obvious you know nothing about the UGA line. UGA lives a life of pure luxury in a private home in a coastal gated community. He has an AC doghouse in Sanford Stadium, his own living quarters in his home, his own hotel room in the Georgia center for home games, a special SUV and his own golf cart. He gets world class health care at the renown UGA vet school. And you better believe his breeding gets a lot of thought and research. He is the most famous mascot in America and has been voted #1 many times. He is beloved. When Georgia has fan day the lines to have your photo taken with UGA are the longest.
I can understand the envy and jealousy toward him. No one wants to be a Hog - yuck, I heard Ark fans actually plant kisses on their hogs snout- and Smokey and Reville are nice dogs but they don’t have the charisma of UGA. UGA is the best mascot to be found and if I were you I’d worry more about my program than offering up advise on something you know nothing about.

They should go with an American bulldog, though they tend to be more aggressive. It is more what the first Uga looked like.

UGA’s look is perfect. We have no desire to change it. Strong, feisty and so ugly he’s cute. He interacts with fans so we don’t need an aggressive dog. He is gentle and loving, but believe me if provoked UGA can take care of himself. Ask that AU player who almost had his leg amputated by his great grandpa

Robert Baker. He still won't talk about that.
And leg? Hell he almost got castrated.
And I think it was his great-great-grandfather, that was V.

Actually it's sad. I will say that Moo State has had more healthy looking EBs as their mascot.
Someone mentioned the American Bulldog... i wouldn't do that but there are other bulldog breeds that are bred with health being a top priority.

You should be a consultant to the Seiler's.

As I said we love UGA. We will not be changing. As for mascots whats really sad is that poor LSU tiger who has to live his life in captivity. He should have been left in his natural habitat

I have always wondered why colleges here don’t use the American Bulldog
1. It’s American
2. It’s actually athletic

UGA made Robert Baker famous. A lot of people have that photo hanging on their wall. We do.

He is in his natural habitat. He was born and raised in captivity. Mike couldn't survive in the wild. He will also live longer than he ever would wild even if he was a native there.

You really are obsessed aren’t you. Georgia is NOT changing mascots. UGA is the most famous, most recognized mascot in the country. The #1 college mascot. Why change? Georgia has the best of every thing and our mascot is too

I’ve seen him and felt sorry that he is not free. I understand that he can’t be released since you say he was born in captivity. But it’s sad non the less
