Rumors have been that Terry is not a big fan of living in Alabama...

I asked Terry Saban if she could see her husband taking another coaching job, whether rebuilding another college program or returning to unfinished business in the NFL.
She didn’t hesitate or waffle in her response.
“To answer your question and get right to the point, no,” she said. “We’re very comfortable here. We love it here. It’s a great fit for our family. It’s a good fit for me. As far as we’re concerned, this is where we’ll retire someday.
“As far as jobs go, this is it for us. I don’t mean to be presumptuous. I would have to talk this over with Nick, but as far as I’m concerned, this is it.”

You are crazy dude. Alabama is nowhere near as capable of blowing large amounts if money on a coach like Texas is. UT has the highest endowment of any public university in the nation, is in a state that would be in the top 10 for GDP if it was its own country. Alabama is not much better off than the test of the southern states. At some point you could not match what Texas could blow because there would be public outcrys from the liberals in Alabama that maybe all that athletic association money should be put to better endeavors.

This is almost exactly what she said when they lived in Baton Rouge
I am not going to waste my time looking for it
He was our coach for 5 years, you will just have to believe me.
that maybe true at the time and it maybe part political.. a no win question...she answered it beautifully.

I'm actually considering a move to Austin myself.
Compared to Tuscaloosa or New Orleans/Baton Rouge to Austin area, Austin pays more money, provides a better standard of living, better education for kids, less crime, better infrastructure, etc. I'm not getting paid millions or coaching Alabama, but I can definitely see why someone would want to move there.
Especially if it's where they plan on settling down.
And ESPECIALLY if they're about to get a 30-50% pay raise.
As someone else mentioned, after this year he'll have accomplished all he really could ask for in Alabama and the future is not going to get any brighter with a less than steady starting quarterback next year. Plus, Texas is kind of the holy grail of football programs.
I still wouldn't put money on him moving to Austin, but I also wouldn't put money on him staying.

He's retiring to Lake Burton when the time comes. Not Tuscaloosa or Austin or anywhere else. That's no mystery.

holy grail in what respect..cuz they have more money then God? Cuz they don't have a history of winning natties like many other programs like USC, ND, Bama, Ut, etc

My excellent UT source has nothing/ no news/nothing other than these reports.

Didn't read the thread, but here is my two cents...
So, the coach who is so OCD he eats the same thing for lunch everyday and considers how the font on a recruiting letter is going to be perceived by a recruit let his wife go to Austin and meet with multiple real estate agents?
Seems legit.
