Oh wonderful, another thread where some mongoloid LSU fan plays armchair psychiatrist for Nick Saban.

These threads will never stop.

First few years of his tenure I figured he was gone after 5-7 years. Now I'm convinced he's a lifer. He's changed. Saban is a part of the community. He's not just our coach anymore. Noticed it big time after the tornado. And believe it or not, when he's just eating dinner with alumni or doing something off-camera, he smiles, relaxes and really enjoys himself at Alabama. And there is no place better suited for him than Alabama. He's different, he's a workaholic, he's terse and impatient and sometimes explosive with the media, he's insanely intense, he's focused on process instead of results, and he gets results. And for some weird reason, his very peculiar persona fits perfectly at Alabama. Anywhere else he would be a square peg in a round hole. They wouldn't quite understand him. Bama was made for Saban and Saban was made for Bama.

I'm not assuming you're unhappy, I'm assuming that you still haven't gotten over Saban's departure from LSU and arrival at a rival school.

That doesn't mean you're unhappy.

I'm really ok with it.....I really was just discussing.

See, I come from a long line of Bama loving family members and PLAYERS. I grew up adoring the Tide. However, I grew up in my later years in south LA.....then signed with LSU. Family wasn't happy, but its all good.

And other than Joe Paterno, so has everyone else.

Face it, Nick Saban and Alabama are a match made in heaven, and both sides realize it

What more do you want?

Easy. They want Saban. As good as Miles is (and he is very, very good), they look at what Nick's done at Bama, think about what might have been, and start another Saban to wherever thread.

Your premise leaves out one factor. Every time Saban moved from one program to another he succeeded. Until Miami. Total failure. That mitigates ambition. He'll stay at Bama.

I really don't think he's ever going to leave Bama for somewhere else. 5 years ago I felt differently.

But maybe he will. It's possible, just like it's possible that Les Miles leaves LSU for somewhere else.

If it happens, so be it. We'll say thanks for the memories and the greatest program in CFB history will continue on.

But I'm just not sure how you expect us to entertain and indulge you in something that we've come to view as extremely unlikely to happen.

Texas? Possibly......and, they have light-years more $$$ than Bama.

Everybody keeps talking about the money Texas has, like Alabama has no more to give. I can say without a shadow of a doubt, whatever Texas offers Saban, Alabama would match it... And then some.

Money is not an issue. Personally I think he'd like another shot at the NFL, under the right circumstances. That would be the greatest challenge of all.

.....people mention Texas because the Horn base truly does have a bigger money bag. Hell, it's a compliment when you think about it.

BUT, I am with you on leaving something unfinished in the NFL. However, his passion is what alienates him from adult/mature players.

Saban is not going anywhere, he rules college football from the Ivory tower.

This is just like when Coach Bryant was at Alabama. There was brief panic where people fired coaches and went on searches but then they jsut said the hell with it and kept the guy they had because they didn't have anyone that could beat the Bear.

Saban goes to the lake and coaches football. And his lake house isn't near Austin.

...it's really not at that level.....Bama was one first down from being in the Cotton Bowl this year. Not a jab, but Saban hasn't been dominating as of late. The game is catching up to Bama and will make the going harder.

He does have a wife who I am sure would like to be in one of the most vibrant cities in the Country. I don't really think he'll ever leave but to say Texas can't offer anything Bama can't match is just wrong.
