If Nick Saban decides to go back into coaching and coach a team that he used to coach then I say it would be the Miami Dolphins not LSU.
The Dolphins do have selling points. First being that Tua is QB. Saban has built a team around him before. I think Waddle is still at Miami too. If the owner for the Dolphins told Saban that he could control personnel and that money was no object let’s win a couple of Super Bowls together then Saban might just do it. It’s probably a long shot still but I could see Saban going back to the NFL and the Dolphins before I see him back at LSU.

No HC in the NFL is coming back to CFB. It is a year-round job. The NFL is not - those coaches have a life

Saban for a couple of years to get it stabilized, then takes over as Athletic Director OR Saban IN now as AD and let him hire the new HC. (My preference and many of my LSU Alum and Non-Alum friends)
Getting ready for bed and say this post. Saban would leave ESPN, all his lucrative contracts on tv, to become your teams AD!

Is saban a good pro coach though?
I think a primary reason why he was successful in college was bc he could actually install pro principles into a bunch of college kids, kids would sit 2-3 years to develop, and he recruited like a mad man to have a real 2-3 deep.
Kirby kind of has it, but those bama teams had an insane level of week to week consistency by college standards.

Saban only has to work a couple days a week for an absurd amount of money. No chance he gives that up. His wife won’t let him

Saban always said he liked college better because he could teach. Plus I think Miss Terry liked being a big fish in a small pond more than living in a big city. There would be a lot to him going back to the Dolphins but it makes more sense than him going back to LSU. I don’t think he will ever coach again personally. If a NFL owner would be willing to write checks and get out of his way and let him run the rest of the team then he might listen. If he coached in the NFL and won a Super Bowl or two then we are not talking about him as the best college football coach in history anymore. We are probably going to call him the best head coach in history at any level.

When has Saban said ‘no’? Huh?
Gotta admit, he’d at least be tempted…and face it, deep down you know he likes us better than you Gumps…

He probably hates not coaching to be fair

How many times did LSU hire a coach while he was at Bama? LSU had several opportunities to hire Saban away from Bama and yet he retired at Alabama. If he was just dying to get back to Baton Rouge why didn’t he?

Crazy ex-girlfriend LSU still thinks their ex secretly never stopped thinking about her.

This is really sad.
The LSU relationship with Saban is always fascinating and complicated.
Even though LSU went on to have successful marriages with a couple of old, eccentric gals - each producing a kid (one of which may always be in the conversation for best kid ever), LSU could never shake that hot, passionate fling they had with the prettiest gal they ever knew and the first kid she ever gave them (technically not their very first but it had been such a long, long time - another lifetime ago).
Doesn’t matter that when she finally got serious and decided to settle down she married the guy down the street in the big mansion and produced several kids with that guy.
No, in the back of LSU’s mind, they’ll always convince themselves that the hot gal REALLY always loved them the most.
Even though she’s kinda looking like 65 year old Madonna now instead of the Material Girl of her heyday, LSU always wonders if she’d be open to one more fling ….just to see if the magical feeling of the very first time could be experienced again.
