I'll say this much. The moment an athlete, actor or a musician on either side of the political spectrum starts putting their agenda ahead of their entertainment value then I stop buying their shite.

Bruce Springsteen for example can EBOD. So can Lebron James, Colin Kaepernick, all of em. Any any republicans who do the same shite.

We seem to be on the same page. I want entertainers to entertain, athletes to play sports, and news organizations to report (Not editorialize unless it is an op ed piece)...in short. Stay in your lane.

I do have to admit that I give a bit more leeway to people that hold similar beliefs, but they tread that line at their own risk. If I were an entertainer, i would steer clear of subjects that would alienate fans/people that I depend on for a living. Getting too political has cost a lot of people promising careers.

If so, then so be it. But you said yourself you don't look to athletes for political commentary, so what in your opinion is the point of them insisting on giving it?

People like to complain but this type of system is working well I would say in a different part of government, although there are still valid criticisms to how they get in and how they are removed.

I never said that (you can go up and read, hopefully slowly, what our exchange was), but then again, you're not proving your self to be a very critical reader on this thread.

It’s just pure professionalism that Saban is teaching these guys, and I really admire that.

Agree. This is part of the job description. Suck it up, show your best face and move on. You don't have to like the person, you don't have to bow down to the person, but you do have to show up, be professional and represent your team and program. And they did, as they always do.

We are much more civilized now.

We give people a shot that sometimes works painlessly and sometimes causes a bunch of pain before death.

How would it have been received in Alabama if they would have refused to go or he allowed players to protest in any way? Saban did what every coach in the SEC would have done, most would not have advertised it.

Cool. Nobody is asking for him to get a Nobel peace prize. We appreciate the way he runs our program.

I'm sure Gus is awesome too and you appreciate what he does.

Thanks.

The last thing you see before the blade falls IMHO IYAM

I'm currently like 27 episodes in on the French Revolution in the Revolutions podcast, so I'm starting to bring it into random conversations. My wife is semi-concerned people are going to think I'm some raging maniac.
