Saban sent his wife to Baton Rouge to interview for the LSU job while at Michigan State

Saban hadn't been there, so Terry Saban's scouting report would be the best intel he had.
"She said, 'They don't have very good facilities," Saban recalled. "'They don't have an academic center. There's a lot of things they don't have that I think they need.' But she said, 'I went in the weight room and they've got a lot of damn good looking players.'"
The crowd at Baumhower's Victory Grille burst into laughter, as did ESPN's Holly Rowe, Thursday's media guest, and Alabama radio voice Eli Gold.
"Leave it to Miss Terry to get you a national championship at LSU," Rowe replied. "I'm not surprised by that."
No. 3 Alabama (7-1, 4-1 SEC) is set to face LSU (4-4, 2-3) at 6 p.m. on ESPN.

Also, you left off the part where he talks about how at the time of the interview, Louisiana was the number one producer of NFL players per capita, in the nation.

I am so excited to hear Saban news this morning.
Perhaps you could rent a spare room in the Saban's house. Give us hourly updates on Nick.
We could find out what color towel Nick used when he showered this morning. What he had for breakfast. What words of wisdom Miss Terri imparted upon him before he left for the office.

I recently saw a YouTube video where Coach Saban was giving a speech and talked about going back to West Virginia with his wife. It was some sort of reunion and he wanted to give her the gas by passing in front of a gas station her old boyfriend now owns. Her response was awesome. I still laugh when I think about it

Wasn't it Nick asking if she was glad that she was with him and not the old boyfriend? And she replies, that it didn’t matter because if she stayed with the old boyfriend he’d be a successful coach and Nick would be pumping gas still.

It is an almost true story but 99% is right. Coach Saban said he didn’t have to come down because he had been on campus a number of times when he was scouting as a NFL assistant
