They aren't beating anyone without a RB.

I mean, if there's an upset of Oklahoma, there's no question Bama has a great argument. Wiscy losing would give Bama a pretty good argument.
Anybody who says otherwise is just a hack.

Alabama is not the best team in the country right now. I think that is clear.

But I am not sure Ohio State or Wisconsin look better.

Still, I think they are boned unless TCU pulls the upset or Ohio State wins in a nail biter-- but even then I think Ohio State would be favored by the committee--- which is really more a commentary on the committee than anything else.

What has Bama done to justify making a 4 team playoff? They didn't win their division and their best win is over #19 LSU, at home. They're not playing at a level worthy of playoff consideration IMHO.

Alabama is a one dimensional team offensively, and it's hurting defensively.

Yea, Troy is more worthy of the playoffs than Bama, IMHO.

Bama: beat LSU at home, lost to Auburn.
Troy: beat LSU ON THE ROAD, LSU beat Auburn at the same locale.

Trojans >> Tide.

Tried to watch that movie the other night because I figured Carell would be a no brainer for MS. Couldn't get through it. It's amazing how bad Hollywood writing is sometimes.

I think Ohio State actually needs to win a somewhat close game against Wisconsin.

The committee went overboard last season explaining that Ohio St was such a clear cut choice over Penn St since they only lost on the road to another playoff contender instead of having two "bad losses.

In the committee's words, that meant it was really not even close even though Penn State had the best win (against OSU).

Right now, Ohio State has better wins than Alabama but Penn State, Mich St, Michigan vs LSU, @ Miss St, Texas A&M and FSU w/QB is certainly not so extreme that it's going to erase the Iowa blowout (when Alabama simply stomped all the mediocre and bad teams they payed) and that inept home loss to Oklahoma.

Ohio State needs Wisconsin to be a huge marquee win.

Blowing them out completely in a game where Wisconsin looks inept would likely do more to intensify suspicions that Wisconsin is a good team with an easy schedule moreso than a real contender.

Fair point. But honestly, as others have pointed out, sometimes it feels like the committee will make the decision then make the rationale.

They set up the precedent of a team like Alabama getting in last year without the conference championship.

ButI think they will find a way to make sure there are not two SEC teams. If it does end up with two SEC teams, I think the 4 team playoff days are numbered.

If Wisconsin barely loses to Ohio State in conference championship, then I think in that case, Wisconsin should go to CFP over Alabama, which really didn't play a tough schedule and finished 2nd in their division. At least Wisconsin won its division.

I hope they can get in with their act together, but I don't really think Bama deserves to be in the playoffs.
However, division or conference championship is irrelevant. This isn't the NFL. All 4 teams are at large teams. Conference championship should only be considered as a tie breaker.
