Because he knew the brand "ALABAMA" and its rich tradition and history of winning National Championships was far easier than at lsu...because of the name Alabama & Saban driving the bus.
So keep telling yourself Saban wanted to be a LSU, even though he had "zero" buyout at Bama and that the PTB would have kicked Miles to the curb to rehire Nick if the interest from Nick was there. Hell when lsu decided to finally fire Les, Sabans buyout was still "zero" yet no one approached Nick. Why? because. he. wasn't. interested. in .going. back. to. lsu. and they knew that.
