Saban disappointed by Bama's ineptitude at home this season

“I never thought it was an issue until this year,” Saban said during his Monday press conference. “But, probably the three best games that we’ve played this year have all been on the road. Whether it was Wisconsin, Georgia, or this past game against Texas A&M.”
Those three wins — all against Top 25 teams at the time — came by a combined score of 114-50. For comparison’s sake, the Crimson Tide have gone 3-1 at home by a combined score of 135-67, including a loss to the only Top-25 team in that group (Ole Miss).
“I think it’s a matter of … being able to stay focused on what you need to do to do your job,” Saban said. “Play in and play out. Just because you’re at home, and whether it’s family, friends, the atmosphere, the distractions that that can create. As a mature competitor, you can’t be affected by external factors.”
Saban has long discussed the idea of “friendly fire,” when seemingly innocuous factors (ticket requests for family members, getting dinner with significant others, etc.) end up distracting players on the home side.
He also thinks that this Alabama team has an issue once it gets ahead on the scoreboard, and does not take advantage of the crowd’s energy to build on momentum-swinging plays.
“All of those things should be positive things that enhance your chances of competition,” Saban said. “It affects the other team. So it’s something that we’ve just got to continue to address. ”

Already making excuses for when Tigers come to Town. LOL

Saban could come out in his press conference following a national championship game win red-assed and saying Bama needs to play better and nobody would bat an eye.

Always trying to improve. Clearly a shitty coach.

Sometimes I think Saban needs to step back and relax little bit... Dude is always on the edge. Can't be good for the health.

It's completely true. Bama is much better on the road.

Saban had accomplished the biggest feat of his life after we won the 2003 National Championship. He refused to celebrate and continued to be a prude. I have hated him ever since.

It's been an issue every year since he arrived. Bama plays some of their best ball on the road because they're more focused. Away games are essentially business trips where you get to leave the nagging wife and annoying kids at home.
They also come out of the Bye week sluggish as shite every year. Almost need to take a field trip to Legion Field for practice or something to break up the monotony yet still keep the rhythm from the previous games going.

He's a perfectionist.. it's what makes him great.
It's what separates him from coaches like Richt who people like to call out for not being enough of a hard arse.
Obviously, there is a line you can cross... but Saban wins... and does it often.
He will celebrate or not when the season is over... Until then he is trying to improve his team, keep them focused, and win games ...
It's why we don't have gatorade baths after a big game in the season... or even the SEC championship.

Umm, clearly he had bigger feats in mind. Maybe he didn't feel like he had anything to celebrate yet?

Can't imagine why he left such a great fan base.

Yup. Another reason why I don't like Alabama's chances. There are just too many similarities to the 2011 game in build up, like the 2013 IB. And unlike 2011, LSU has a clear advantage on offense.

Lsu may be better on offense but the defense is no where near that 2011 team.
