1961 = won AP and Coaches
1964 = won AP and Coaches
1965 = won AP
1973 = won Coaches
1978 = won AP
1979 = won AP and Coaches
1992 = won AP and Coaches
2009 = won BCS and AP
2011 = won BCS and AP

That's 9 that can't be denied.

Plus,

1925, 1926, 1930, and 1934 were undefeated Rose Bowl Champions teams

That's 13.

And, 1941 is BS....not counted.

After January...we'll be adding 1 more so 14 would be correct.

Didn't say anything of the sort. Just countering your uninformed statement with evidence to the contrary.

Obviously da bear's is more impressive considering shorter schedule of his time.

Hell no. If Saban wins a title this year , IMO ,it will be a top 5 ALLTIME CFB run. Bear had several advantages that Saban doesn't. The Bear don't have scholly limits, so he would recruit a guy just so other teams couldn't get him. He also was at one of the few schools whom played on TV almost every weekend( this was a huge recruiting advantage back then). Also ,Bear didn't have to deal with the parity that Saban has. IMO Saban's run is more impressive

Most don't have a chance to claim multiple NC's or even one.

You are missing a few. We are actually credited with 9 which is the most in FBS and is 1 more than Notre Dame who is credited with 8

coincidentally, we also lead them by the same margin in claimed titles. Alabama with 14 and Notre Dame with 13.

Interesting, we arent the only ones that claim those old championships.

How about Pitt?

They claim 9 national titles and only 2 of which are AP, Coaches, or BCS.

Michigan is worse. They claim 11 and only 2 are AP, Coaches, or BCS

It doesn't matter. Most people that aren't jackasses just go with whatever the university claims.

Bama has 9 titles. I don't know why Bama feels they need to retroactively claim titles.
It's beyond ignorant to claim a title from 1924 using a poll that was created 5 years later( I'm just using a generic timeframe).
Also, BAMA's 22 SEC titles are FAR MORE impressive than the 9 MNC they have. They should hype that up more.

These ARE NOT NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS. they are undefeated rose bowls championships. You can't claim a title from 1925 using a poll created 5 years later. Come on. If you gumps would stop trying to claim these bullshite titles from the 20's then no one would have a problem with the others.

The team was celebrated as national champs right after the game. There are newspaper clippings calling it the National Grid Title. I'm sure someone has them around here
