Saban about to accomplish a feat, only Bryant accomplished once in his tenure

Bear won 10 or more games for 5 consecutive seasons, from 1971-75. He won 54 games and lost 6 in that time frame. 4 of the 5 were 11 win seasons.
With a win Saturday, Saban will be the only other Bama coach to have won 10 or more games for 5 consecutive seasons. He is currently 56-6 since the beginning of the 2008 season, and only 2010 has him as low as 10 wins. Two others, he's won 12, and one season.. 14.
Bear's 1976 season interrupted the streak, as he won only 9 games, before he reeled off another 4 consecutive seasons of 10 wins or more.
I think Saban, could make it ten years straight, if he is at Bama another 5 yrs after this season.

Also, Bear won 3 of 4 national titles 61-64. SHOULD have won 3 in a row 77-79.

That's why I listed losses as well. To date, same amount, while Saban is playing more games. In that time frame for Saban, he's faced 27 Top Twenty-five teams, and 16 Top Ten teams to achieve his record.
