Sorry but Devonta Smith never did what Ryan Williams did last night.
Devonta Smith was great, but he was the product of an all-time Alabama offense that executed everything to perfection. Waddle was a better WR than Smith but he got injured, making Devonta our go-to guy.
Devonta Smith isn't even a WR1 in the NFL.
Ryan Williams is in a league with Julio and Waddle for the freakiest WR we've had here.
He's unbelievable

4 games and no one contains him. Georgia tried in the second half and we seen how that went

Amari Cooper is still Bama's best WR to lace them up.
Palmer is still the most electric.
What's the fuss about?

He resembles Amari Cooper more than Smith.
I don't think he resembles a single WR we have ever had through his 4 game college career, acknowledging not to overreact to a great start before teams start trying to account for him more.
He's a hybrid of several. I see Cooper, Smith, and Palmer. I don't think he has Williams' speed, but he looked fast as shite when he pulled away down the sideline.
He doesn't have the other elite WRs playing around him either that Bama has had recently. Would have been very interesting to see how good Bama's pass game could be had Bond stayed as well.

It's been 4 games, slow your roll.

As freshmen, they both caught game winning TD’s against uga!

Maybe. He seems to have similar speed, but he also has some moves with the ball in his hands. He's really, really good.

Really special player. I hate he is on your team lol
Posted on 9/29/24 at 12:38 pm to SlimNuggets
Of course he is. He has played less than 1/2 a season and SEC play just started. Considering this, no one can argue that he is much, much better than a Heisman winner.

It's early, but Peter Warwick at FSU in the late 90s came to mind...beyond the Bama WR comparisons.

He is the best freshman WR Alabama’s ever had. Imagine how great he can be after 3 full seasons.
