Who threw a flag if it wasn’t a ref?

McGahee was injured in the 4th quarter in a game we were winning. He had a whole 67 yards rushing.

Fail from you.

Ready to move on to the PI nonsense yet?

Should worry more about getting his @ss kicked by Michigan every year before he worries about Georgia, imo.

I will say it for the thousandth time, it was not targeting but it was hitting a defenseless receiver which should have been a 15 yard penalty.

The stupid targeting rule prevented the officials from making the correct call.

He was a defenseless player. It was targeting. Doesn’t have to be a hit to the head or neck area. He lunged his whole body recklessly at a defenseless player. It was dirty and should have been called.

Congrats on the national championship*

To be sure, I think the targeting rule is terrible.

But, if that hit wasn't a penalty, I don't know why they bother.

Out of curiosity...if anybody knows....had the referees seen him step out that would have been a penalty. If they had ruled the hit to be targeting, would they have off set, and would Bullard have been out of the game, or what happens in that scenario?

Yep.

Offsetting penalties. Targeting on Bullard (w/maybe an ejection) and illegal touching or participation by MHJ.

MaGhee was gashing the defense on that drive before getting hurt. It was a huge game changing play for both momentum and actual production. Eerily similar to Harrison. Lol.

PI call is considered one of the most controversial calls in sports history. We’re not going to convince each other one way or another.

\
1. There was no contact with the crown of the helmet.
2. The contact was shoulder to shoulder.\
3. After the shoulder to shoulder hit their heads did make contact, but the targeting rule states that there must be forcible contact to the head and neck area, there was no targeting on this play. If there was please state the part of the targeting rule that would apply.

He was? Go ahead and lay that out. Been awhile since I've watched the game, but I don't remember ever thinking McGahee was "gashing" our defense.

It's also been affirmed as the correct call, over and over and over again. The only people still complaining about that call are Miami fans and Buckeye haters.

Then there's that whole part where we should've won before OT.

It wasn’t targeting. But plays like this need special calls as well even if it was targeting.

The pass was a duck and a mistake by the QB that openly put his player in danger. Is the defender going to purposely slow down and not destroy the Receiver bc it’s a bad play by the QB? Should we remove all physicality from the game?

Should the QBs start throwing purposely bad slant routes - throwing the ball high so the defense will nail the Receiver and eject the players in order to get 15 yards too?

A clear targeting hit happened on the last play of the Michigan TCU game. The Michigan players were frantically lateraling the ball all around and one of the TCU players clearly had a head to head hit in the midst of the chaos. The refs made a great call not calling that clear targeting. This should be a regularly occurring thing.
